Interesting that many of those 'thanking' you for posting this are now saying what a waste of time it is and how rubbish new-builds are since I pointed out that it will reduce demand for their homes...

It would be funny if it wasn't so tragic.

And you STILL can't afford one!:p

Even if just a third of properties have reduced their asking prices, when you're talking London prices it's a drop in the ocean!:D £5k off a half million pound property is peanuts darlink.

Here's a very average terraced house in south west London - nothing very special at all. Look how much they've just got for it!:money:

Got one already love. And the beauty of it is because I didn't buy at the top of an incredibly obvious bubble, falling house prices don't bother me.

And even better, I'm smart enough to realise that as prices fall, the differential between my home and any I choose to upgrade to becomes smaller.

In fact the only people falling house prices threaten are those who paid over the odds, those wanting to downsize (who need some mug to pay for their retirement), those living lifestyles they can't afford on withdrawn equity and wannabe property 'investors'.

    Which one are you?

So, brit1234 - in Q1 2009 YOU said prices will fall 50% ...... and you are STILL spouting that crap TODAY!?

We are in Q4 2011 - maybe that passed you by?

That's 30 months of you paying rent - about £30,000 down the toilet .............

    PRICELESS ....... :rotfl:

What does it feel like to be on the losing side?

£30,000 ...... see my beautiful Classic Sports Car? Yes, that's what you could have bought instead .................... :T

Mr Ree good to see you are showing your true colours of Sibleys sock puppet.

Now house prices were falling so they had to cut interest rates in a vain effort to keep the bubble inflated. However house prices start to fall again.

So what does Sibly do but create MR Ree alta ego on various websites and pretend to be a disillusioned bear. Constantly stating that he wants house prices to fall but stating that prices and sales were picking up against his wishes.

What a sad man to spend all this time and effort creating characters to try to stop price falls and at the same time gloat at first time buyers priced out.

As for my rent that's about £12,000 spent to live in central london with a 15min trip to work, save large amounts and a great social life. So is that £30,000 down the toilet, no. It's £12,000 invested wisely.

Also living that close I worked in a special unit where the overtime in one year eclipsed 3 years rent.

Sibley you are on the losing side so I am no where near you.

By the way how much have your buy to lets fallen in value today and how much more have they fallen since you first read that.

    Really? You've got one already?

    Don't believe ya!:rotfl:

If you DID have one (and had bought years ago) you wouldn't be PRAYING that property prices drop you silly old banana!:rotfl:

If you're gonna lie switch your old grey matter on. Anyone can make out they live in a half million pound home but for all we know you could be some saddo renting a little attic room.

I'm sorry, did I mistakenly give you the impression I'm vaguely concerned what you think? :rotfl::rotfl:

Good now we've got that misunderstanding out the way..

..You did read what I wrote didn't you (I'm assuming you can and your carer isn't writing on your behalf) - falling prices means its cheaper to trade up. Is it really that difficult to grasp?

Dependin and all that but mortgages are CHEAPER than rents these days. So if you've coughed up £30k on just rent that really is money down the drain. You coul be buying towards something that you'll one day own for that money you've wasted on rent.

The Wirral is a very inexpensive part of the country so of course it's cheap to buy property there.[/QUOTE

One of my inlaws lives in the Wirral (in the best part apparently) and it's very dismal up there. It's got such a dreary feel about the place and the weather's horrible too, besides lots of grey skies and rasin it gets a cold breeze coming in off the water.

    Grey miserable place:o

Good size house and location but you can't compare the Wirall with London or Surrey chuck!:o

True, the Wirral is much better :D
  • Buy in the right part of Wirral and you can get a cracking house for a decent price, anywhere on the Prom is a good bet.....:T
