Tacky hair.

In a whole different category are the healthy people who consistently pay salons to cut their hair off and then pay someone else to tie some fake hair back on. :rotfl:
It just doesn't make logical sense. I find it baffling.
"Grow your own" can apply to hair, not only vegetables! :rotfl:
It's not something I would do either but then again their spending is keeping the economy moving. It may seem ridiculous to many but if people stopped having hair extensions, buying fake tan, false nails and so on there would be less beauty salons, less hairdressers etc and consequently more unemployment.
Look at it another way -they are making a positive contribution to stabilisation of the world financial crisis - even if they don't realise it:)0 -

Are you implying that anyone who does NOT have extensions and fake nails must bite their nails and have short hair? :rotfl:
GENUINE long healthy hair does exist, you know! I have some myself. And I take care of my own nails, too.
It's almost as though people have actually FORGOTTEN that long hair is actually possible to accomplish just by growing it yourself! :rotfl:
Every time chavs see long hair they suspect it's extensions, and every time they see nice, cared-for nails, they assume they're stuck on top of some nasty ones. :rotfl:0 -
I have long hair and long nails too... All home-grownNow free from the incompetence of vodafail0

I found a hair extension on my hallway floor the other morning, I guess one of the cats must have 'hunted' it, hopefully not off the lady who had been wearing itAccept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Depends on how it's done really. The cheap, easily available clip in extensions often need to be trimmed to blend in with the natural hair. The colour match needs to be spot on to avoid it being obvious and some cheaper extensions can be unnaturally shiny too which can make them look tacky.
I think they're great for people who struggle to grow their own hair, have naturally fine hair, or simply have a bad/growing out cut. They're also nice for anyone wanting a bit of a change. For occasional party wear the cheap ones will do fine, especially if you look after them properly.
I've never used the individual clip ins but I have used ponytail and bun extensions. I was growing out a short angled cut and it was looking pretty awful, so the second I could tie my hair into a ponytail I used extensions over the top. It helped that my hair is dyed black as it was easy to get the right colour match. I found that the only people that knew (besides people who knew I had a bob the day before!) were other people who wore extensions.
Completely agree that real hair extensions are wrong. You can get perfectly nice synthetic hair extensions, and the celebs that wear real ones look ridiculous with that huge head of hair anyway.
I suggest watching the film Exte. It'll put you right off hair extensions for a while0 -
Beats me. I often ask myself that question.
If they want bits of trailing nylon flapping about and looking stupid, fair enough, but wearing human hair extensions is disgusting and unethical. The hair is often bought from poverty-stricken women for a pittance and then sold on for a huge profit, or harvested from corpses.
Why would you want hair taken from a dead body sewn onto your hair?
Why not just grow your own?
Fake nails, hair, eyelashes, tans, boobs, etc. all just look stupid.
My hair grows easily so I don't need extensions, my nails grow too, but I like the brilliant white square tip look so get acrylic/gel nails.
I LOVE false eyelashes, I get a tan now & then.
Don't need the boobs but if I did I wouldn't see anything wrong in it.
Not a fan of the natural AKA unkempt look;)0 -

Brilliant post:T:T:T:T0 -
I use false nails as when I paint them the polish doesn't chip
so I can have them on for a week and not need to re apply or top up. It's time consuming at the start but they look really good for a while.
