Tacky hair.

Why don't women grow their hair if they want to keep it long instead of wearing cheap nylon extensions?

Beats me. I often ask myself that question.
If they want bits of trailing nylon flapping about and looking stupid, fair enough, but wearing human hair extensions is disgusting and unethical. The hair is often bought from poverty-stricken women for a pittance and then sold on for a huge profit, or harvested from corpses.
Why would you want hair taken from a dead body sewn onto your hair?
Why not just grow your own?
Fake nails, hair, eyelashes, tans, boobs, etc. all just look stupid.0 -
I put fake tan on my legs. It doesn't look stupid, it just makes them the same colour as the rest of me.0

Some people can't grow their hair that long, but they are welcome to some of mine as it needs a good chop at the moment.
Fake tan I get, it looks nice (not orange ones) and is healthier than sunbathing. Fake nails and things hinder me doing normal day to day tasks.0 -
I wear hair extensions (synthetic) and don't look stupid either, I know other people who wear them and they don't look stupid, I also wear fake tan and false eyelashes, they don't look stupid either. People recovering from illness often wear extensions or wigs at various stages of regrowth (if they are lucky) do you think they look stupid too?Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

Because you can't grow your hair quickly? Or because you want your hair long sometimes and short other times?******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0

Hair extensions normally look bloody awful, occasionally look ok but never look real.I appreciate that not everyone's hair grows quickly but ......;):D"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

I do think you're generalising a bit. I don't wear them, btw, and have seen some horrid ones, but also some very good ones.******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0

Where's that OTT rant gone?I was just about to reply to it:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

People who've lost their hair due to chemo wear wigs because they need to. They have my sympathy.
In a whole different category are the healthy people who consistently pay salons to cut their hair off and then pay someone else to tie some fake hair back on. :rotfl:
It just doesn't make logical sense. I find it baffling.
"Grow your own" can apply to hair, not only vegetables! :rotfl:
It would make (slightly) more sense to keep the hair you keep cutting off and use that for your extensions. Then at least it would be free, and also you'd know it hadn't been taken from a corpse!0 -
Some peoples hair won't grow past a certain length and some peoples hair will grow long but can be very fine so it needs extensions to thicken it up. I don't see what your problem is with it.
I bet a lot of woman wear extensions that you wouldn't know were extensions and you just think they have lovely hair. I agree there are a lot of cheap bad extensions but that is like everything. Good extensions will not be normally be noticed.0
