MyHermes operate a network of self employed drivers who take your parcel to the main depot and bring your parcel from the local depot to your door. They use their own vehicles and clothes.
Never allow a parcel to leave without some kind of receipt for the collection. It may inconvenience you a little and may annoy your buyer, but if explained correctly your buyer would rather get their parcel a day late than you give it to someone who cannot provide a receipt. There is an option to purchase extra insurance too so you didn't need to be £40 out of pocket. It may sometimes seem like I can't spell, I can, I just can't type0 -
Oh dear, the famous George Iveson emerges again.........there is a LONG Parcel2go thread somewhere on this forum, if you do a search, I and many many others fell victim to their legendary customer-couldn't-care-less rubbish. Remember, they are not couriers, just courier brokers, and while many collections arranged by them go ok and the prices are relatively cheap, when problems arise they are as much help as a chocolate teapot and getting compensation out of them is like extracting water from a stone....in my case they took 9 months to "get around to it" and send my £50 compensation (be warned - its now only £20 they offer!) I was left £70 out of pocket for a parcel blatantly stolen by the courier - courier website stated I had "signed personally" for an item while I was 200 miles away and there is a statement from the elderly couple observing the attempted delivery to the wrong address stating that the courier spoke to them, ascertained it was misdirected, and put it back in the van and drove away. Within the hour it showed up on the website as delivered to and signed for, by me. Courier was DHL in that case, Parcel2go was pathetic - the fab George Iveson being probably more evasive and useless than most - he is allegedly the "customer services manager". Replied to one email then vanished, never to be heard of again until he popped up on MSF !!!! Based on their truly dreadful customer service and the dishonest way that they (and other companies of this ilk) won't provide any phone numbers to speak to any proper employees who can actually do something to help - plus remove all negative comments about them instantly on the site / FB etc - I would never use them again. Go directly through the courier or collectplus. Interparcel is also a broker site - we had issues with Hermes not bothering to collect on the promised day and making us wait for a week till it was done, via interparcel - although at least you can phone Interparcel call centre and speak to a real person, not an Internet drone!!
Directly via courier would always be best, IMHO. From experience.....0 -
I have used interparcel in the past and found them to be ok, and pay out quickly when things go wrong.
I currently book small parcels directly with MyHermes and larger parcel with theseIt may sometimes seem like I can't spell, I can, I just can't type0 -

I didn't expect my parcel to be mauled so badly, also I forgot my crystal ball! Besides the extra insurance is a con, £40 used to be the default amount offered by the service now it is only £20. It money making / cost saving excercise.MyOnlyPost wrote: »MyHermes operate a network of self employed drivers who take your parcel to the main depot and bring your parcel from the local depot to your door. I know. I'm on first name basis with the gent now and his daughter who has the round in my area. I have seen him many times, I even rang him once to help me find the missing parcel in the depot. I got more sence out of him than P2G or MyHermes!MyOnlyPost wrote: »Never allow a parcel to leave without some kind of receipt for the collection. The gent in question said the printer that prints his labels had broken so he would come back and drop them off for me. He never came back, so I ordered a "fake" delivery from P2G to make him come back hence why I have his mobile number too (I later got a refund for the booking). Regardless of the fact I now had the collection reference it was no more effective in locating my missing parcel as the P2G number I had.
These are the extreme lengths I have had to go to in order to get some sence out of what has been going on.0 -

I have made the mistake of using parcel2go one too many times simply because they're prices are cheaper than anywhere else.

All Hermes couriers are non uniformed and drive their own vehicles(self employed) they are popular because they' re cheap.0 -
Parcel2go don't even let you order over the phone and I've heard a lot of bad press about them. I had no internet when I moved into my new flat and they wouldnt take my order. I used ParcelsPlease - they speak to you on the phone, care about your order and the driver ACTUALLY turns up! Worth a look for sure. There are other posts about Yodel being pretty bad but I've not had any problems with Home Delivery Network when it has been through an online retailer0

I had them not come to pick up a parcel on the stated day, but then came the day after. But they still delivered in the same time frame.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209
