Ok, well, where shall I start............
A certain brand that sells overpriced handbags started their sale on Christmas Eve. I saw a very nice bag in the sale, but even in the sale, still too expensive. I kept staring every day and then yesterday, said bag, was reduced by 50%. Still too expensive, but, I abandoned my money saving ways for 5 minutes whilst I ordered the bag.
I have today emailed to cancel the order. No reply (since it's a Sunday) - so not sure whether the order will be cancelled, I shall call in the morning to check.
The plot thickens.......
Ed - at this point, I think you should probably look away.
Same overpriced brand - I bought a bag from them at the beginning of September (I don't think I declared it as I had sold a much more expensive handbag to fund it and had money left over which I OP'd off the mortgage). Anyway - the bag had a flaw on it, but the bag was utterly gorgeous and no longer available. So, I decided to keep it for the time being. Anyway, one of my "bag friends" also purchased the same bag, but hers was pristine. She decided to sell hers a couple of weeks ago and gave me first option (I had expressed an interest given my dodgy specimen).
So, I bought my friends bag a few weeks ago with the plan that my dodgy one would be returned.
My dodgy bag has been returned and I am currently waiting to find out what they plan on doing. I discovered quite a few more faults before I returned it and from experience (and they have verbally confirmed this over the phone, I'm just waiting for the official email) they will most likely offer me vouchers for the full RP.
Now, the thing is - I bought the bag from one of their outlets at 30% off. Ed - if you didn't look away before, then you should definitely look away now (and anyone else of a delicate disposition) So, I paid £542 for the bag. My intention is to try and get a refund - this will then simply pay back to my savings the money that I had to withdraw to get the pristine bag. HOWEVER - they will most likely try and get me to accept vouchers - the benefit of which is that the vouchers will be for the full RRP which was £775, rather than the £542 that I paid. The vouchers are valid for 12 months.
I feel at this point, that in my defence, I should point out that I haven't actually spent any "new money" on my bag addiction for around 12 months. New purchases have been funded by selling other bags and I've also managed to pay some money off my mortgage with some proceeds too.
So, predicament as follows:
1 - Very sensible option - insist on refund (since faulty) and repay savings
2 - Ask them for vouchers and sell them..... in theory would be able to sell them for more than the £542
3 - Ask them to put part of the vouchers towards the bag that I ordered yesterday and decided to cancel and then have a small voucher for the remainder........ this could then be sold, so at least I'd have a little bit to go back in to savings
4 - Get the vouchers, use my friends shareholder discount and grab myself the most amazing bag from their coming soon section
So, thats the bag side........
In other business......
I returned the pillows to TKMaxx earlier today and then popped in to Top Shop and spent £60 on 2 rather spendid tops. Not even in the sale.
I think that I have confessed it all........
I am not tapping away at my spreadsheets trying to redeem myself and focus on what I should be doing to try and achieve my MF goal by the end of 2016. Now just 4 years left..............0 -
Ha - I think that may have been my longest ever post and rather than it being about sharing my MS wisdom, it's about my bag addiction. That just about sums me up really.0
