Here's to a happy, healthy and money saving 2013 for all of us.

Wore one of the lovely new tops that I bought yesterday today and discovered it had a hole in it. Last one, so no chance of an exchange. On the bright side it will mean a £42 refund.0

Happy New Year!
DH has had man flu for the last few days..... So, I went to bed last night just before 10. Wasn't sleepy so ended up getting my notebook and calculator out and searched through some of the threads on here for cheap family meals. I can do much better in this area, so one of my plans is to really try and cut the supermarket spends.
I love my spreadsheets but have no idea where to start with realistic budget setting ideas for; supermarket, clothes for the family, entertainment, treats etc etc. I tried last year with separate accounts for everything but it didn't really work out. I managed to reduce it a bit compares to before starting this journey, but as you know, I get easily carried away at times and need to try and have some more focus. Any ideas gratefully received.
Finished with the recipe stuff at around half 11 and then popped in my ear plugs and went to sleep.
So far, I've said happy new year to the children (not that they knew what I meant) and have ran around after DH getting him tablets, drinks, lip balm (!).... No sign of a happy new year from him but perhaps he'll be slightly better once he's finished in his lovely warm bubble bath. This man flu thing is hard work.0 -

Poor Mr LB, hope he's feeling better.
Happy New Year to you and your bags.

Happy New Year Lula
Sorry to hear of the Man Flu. I am suffering myself in our household and using it as an excuse to return to my bed with the Ipad and browse on here :rotfl:
Good luck with your budgeting and planning. I know that tackling family meals etc can have a huge impact. There is a meal ideas website you can use that produces a shopping list as well that I had some success with in the summer. Sorry I can't recall the name of top of my flu ridden head...will have a think.....I did use it for a couple of weeks and it gave me some meals that I include regularly now. A cheap Chilli con Carne recipe and a Tarteflette - a dish with potatoes layered with ham cheese and cream.Mortgage 14/12/2012 - £309865
First challenge - clear outstanding loan of £6K by 31/03/2013 before tackling the mortgage
