Finger nails made it to the party in tact. Pants evening....... Shocking food and the music was terrible. Such a shame. I ended up driving home as only had one drink, so saved some £'s on a taxi. And a fair it saved on me not drinking!
Still in bed. Need my morning coffee and then it's time to tackle the day which will involve a roast pork dinner at some point.0 -
Glad you kept your varnish intact, even if it was a cack evening. Mrs E has recently discovered plastic?/acrylic? nails - they sit over the top of the actual nail and look very smart. They don't chip, but it is a little odd when she loses one! :rotfl:0

Nails are still going strong, even after a few hours in the park with the boys....
I considered getting some stuff to do gel nails, but didn't want to spend the money!
Pork is in the oven and I guess I will need to go and organise the veg etc shortly.
Shared some sushi with DH for a late lunch/snack - I only tried sushi for the first time last week and I'm hooked. Lovely stuff, especially if dipped in wasabi and soy. The sushi in pret is tdf (last week on expenses.... Today tesco out of my own purse).
Baked and decorated some cupcakes for ds1 earlier, he has to take in some food for the Xmas party tomorrow, seemed nicer than sending in a box of Jaffa cakes. More baking on Tuesday do ds2's party. I will soon be known as the cupcake queen.
Hmmm, right, roast potatoes and cauliflower/broccoli cheese or potatoe dauphinoise and steamed cauliflower/broccoli.... Decisions decisions.0 -
Sorry your night out wasn't up too much lula:( at least your nails are standing up to the rigours of mummy-hood though:D
Being a potato connoisseur, can I just say that my favourite would potato dauphinoise and steamed cauliflower/broccoli (just saying... in case I ever pop round for tea).

Dauphinoise and steamed veggies it was. Enjoyed by three of us. Ds1 (the fussy one) sadly didn't eat a single thing. Grrrrrrrrr.
Natty, you would be welcome any time my lovely.0 -

I love sushi and sashimi (just pieces of top quality fish, no rice) is also fantastic if you find a good place. Fond memories of eating sushi in NYC on our honeymoon and there is also a fantastic restaurant in Edinburgh that we visit at least once a year0 -
Raw fish? That's why fire was invented

What a lovely thing to say - thank you...and if you ever fancy a baked potato I would be more than happy to welcome you:D
My F&B colour chart arrived - I'm thinking that once the hall has been stripped of paper and skimmed with plaster, I'll go with 'All White' which I know sounds incredibly boring, however I think the space would look amazing and light, therefore hopefully bigger!February13 - £74990 (or thereabouts)

Ed - I love salmon sashimi... I had it in a loch fyne restaurant and it was lovely... I've also recently discovered oysters and I love them too.
Natty - I'm sure all white would look stunning, especially if you want to give the appearance of extra space. Sadly in my house white wouldn't be white for very long with my boys.
Ds1 is now starving so making him a fish finger sandwich for supper. My mum would have made me do without and sent me to bed if I didn't eat my dinner, but I guess I'm a soft touch. Because he's so fussy and doesn't really eat much, I just can't refuse when he asks for something, I'm just grateful for him to eat.
Keen to pack him off to bed (in the nicest possible way) so that I can watch the next installment of dexter (near the end of the season now) and sip one of DH's lovely hot chocs..... I think I might indulge and have 3 marshmallows in it tonight. I really know how to party hard.0 -
Oooohhh - my son downloaded his Netflix on my iPad and Dexter is available:D XFebruary13 - £74990 (or thereabouts)
