I totally agree ajmoney...... When I'm not really feeling the MSE vibe and am debating blowing money on pointless cr*p that I don't need, I quickly catch up on some threads and it kind of restores sanity. Lets just say that I've been doing a lot of catching up on threads recently!!!!0

It's our 10th wedding anniversary in a couple of weeks and we've decided to have a couple of nights away. After much research, we've managed to do it in a MSW way - I've just booked a Deluxe room in a rather nice 5 star hotel, bed and breakfast, it's cost £198 for both nights, which I think is pretty good going.
I'd found one which looked a little bit nicer but it was going to cost more than double, so we've decided that we will use the money we have saved to pay for some treatments in the spa and dinner etc.
I tried looking through quidco but the deals through them werent as good as actually going to the hotel directly.0 -
Enjoy your weekend away, that sounds nice. We always try and get away even if it is just camping! Think for the "special" ones we will try and go somewhere a bit more plush but just making the effort to go somewhere reminds us both it is a special day!0

Thanks Ammonite, we decided we should make some effort since it's been 10 years.....
Spa treatments booked - sadly nothing about this that is very MSE at all!!!0 -
Homemade lentil and vegetable soup today for dinner.... Went down well. Enough for another meal, so will pop it in he freezer and have it next week.
I'm going to attempt some banana bread tomorrow as I've spied 4 bananas starting to look a little bit worse for wear in the kitchen.0 -
I am FOREVER chucking out bananas, unless they are at their optimum yellow then they lie uneaten. Before you know it they are all yuckky browny black with shrivelled up stalks on the banana tree (poor wee things).
Next time (for there surely will be a next time!), I will make banana loaf also - I keep forgetting about this recipe:o
PS. Deluxe 5:starmod: hotel sounds fabulous for the 10 year anniversary:smileyheaFebruary13 - £74990 (or thereabouts)
MND - Let's go for 2020 'cos it's got a nice ring to it:D

Excellent - I'm going to be spoilt for choice for things to do with my bananas - determined to do something though as I'm NOT chucking them in the bin this time.
Popped out for some writing pads and pens this morning (work from home) - I've not bought any for years as there always seems to be something lying around, however, this morning there was nothing left for me to write on! (Company expense, so not the end of the world).
Popped in to Aldi to get a few essentials that we'd run out of and managed to pick up a halloween costume for DS1 - only £3.99 and some face crayon things. DS2 will make do with the batman outfit he got for his birthday - we'll add some face paint and he can be a Zombie Batman.
Pasta bake for dinner tonight - the children asked for it. I was all set to make Roast chicken (still in the fridge as we ended up having Sunday dinner at our friends) but the chuck will need to spend another day in the fridge.
Bought a few bits so that we can make a nice dinner with the left over chicken (Economy Gastronomy) - it makes up loads so that will do for a few meals too.
Might be able to avoid a big food shop at the end of the week as we will be away part of the weekend and we still have the stuff to make a few meals off this weeks meal plan - so perhaps just a small top up shop will be needed.0 -
Had a few Amazon boxes delivered today - filled with Christmas presents! Very impressed with the delivery time... I only ordered the items over the weekend and I selected the free of charge super saver delivery too. Amazing!
They're stashed away in my wardrobe for the time being. Still no wrapping paper so I might hold fire on the wrapping thing for the time being.... it might be nice to wait until nearer to Christmas and do what others have suggested which is to wrap whilst listening to Christmas tunes.... I might need to drink a snowball or a Baileys while I do it and perhaps get really wild and have a warmed mince pie with some brandy butter, nom nom.0
