Glad Ds2 was happier going into school. I usually only do the breakfast club run which is slightly less chaotic than waiting for the bell on the yard. I need to reign DS back as he's nearly 3 and desperate to start. Hope he feels the same next year.
Good luck with all the NSD's, they seem to require more effort lately whereas I used to do them quite easily!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Thanks for dropping in Cath... sadly I spoke too soon with DS2 and school. I had the worst morning ever today - screaming and shouting to the point that they had to drag him off me. I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to cope on a morning with him to be honest. He's an adorable little boy but he has the most stubborn/grumpy side to him that I've even seen in anybody and he can be really quite horrid when he gets in to one of those moods. Deep sigh.......

We had a takeaway Thai last night - £12. We shared one meal..... could have been worse I suppose but an epic fail on the NSD front.
Cat is off to the vets for her injections this morning - money will come from cat saves(!)..... and DH is off to do the weekly shopping.
Tonne of work to do, so I suppose I'd better get on with it!0 -
Crazy busy day with work coupled with a mass cake off when the boys got back from school.....
Just need to make some butter icing and then mess around making the cakes look pretty and taste yummy.0 -
Home made cake is my downfall..Morgage till Nov 30 GOAL MFW Sept 2016Aug 11 - £100k Aug 2016.... It's GONE!!!!!
2014 GOAL HIT 5 Stone! 2016 GOAL to be a MF marathon runner.

Cake Making went well - delivered them to school this morning. The school has a cake sale every other Friday afternoon and the various year groups take turns making them. Children are then able to buy the cakes after school for 50p each... nice little way of fundraising and it's used for playground equipment.
Had a chat with DS2's teacher after school yesterday to agree a plan of action. She really seems quite fab and he walked in beautifully this morning with his new buddy and a big smile on his face. She even brought out a book to the playground to give him so that he could look forward to reading it when he got in to the classroom.
Work still hectic.
Visiting relatives tomorrow, need to fill up on diesel.
So, other than diesel and £1 for two cakes, there shouldn't be any other spends.
(I'm obviously choosing to ignore the fact that DH just placed his order for a sim free iPhone 6 - sharp intake of breath).0 -

What a soggy start to the week......
Lovely and fairly busy weekend. Manchester to see family on Saturday and then lunch yesterday at our neighbours house.
Spends:
Plant from M&S enroute to Manchester - gift for the host
Flowers and wine yesterday for our neighbour
No cooking all weekend!
We ordered school uniform for the new school back and the end of July. Still waiting for it to arrive - we could really use it today as it's pouring down and the boys would like to be able to wear a school jumper. They're making do with the white polos currently.
Busy and varied working week ahead, so best crack on.
Have a great week!0 -
The week is flying by........
Boys are happy at school.... DS2 has gone in every day with a (sort of) smile - some might say grimace - but there hasn't been any tears or nonsense, so it's progress for sure.
Had a meeting at school the other evening about secondary schools - we start attending open evenings next week and then need to go on line and do our submission. Pretty much looks like the two that we wanted we won't get (although we will still list them as our top two anyway) and that we should get our third option... that said, maybe the open evenings/days will change our opinion.
Spends:
None - I know, pigs are actually flying around here.....
When I say none, I mean none for me - DH has various boxes coming and going - thankfully most things get returned, so the damage isn't too bad.0 -
Worky thing in London for the last few days - went pretty well, some promising opportunities.
Well, what can I say, if you can't beat em, join em - I bought some new boots at the station whilst I waited for my train home.
I'm in the naughty corner next to the naughty step and feeling very, well, naughty...... (CC still frozen, paid for them with actual money).
Boys are hyper, I was going to let them watch some XFactor before bed tonight, but they've driven me nuts, so they're in bed feeling sorry for themselves.0 -
