Meal out last night was nice and we only had to out £20 of real money towards it and that included the tip.

Took ds2 to football this morning. Ds1 sat on the side line with his look band kit!

The boys and I cleaned the house when we got back and I roped them in to hoovering their own rooms for the first time.

Then, off to town for boys haircuts.

    Spends today:
    £2 football subs
£1 parking (free spaces were full)
    £20 hair cuts, inc tip
    98p furniture polish
£2 more loom bands. I should have been firmer!
    £2.75 Mr S

Ordered a new cabin baggage suitcase, one of those Tripp ones that came up trumps on the Gadget Show. Nice bright yellow - £45. I travel all of the time with work so it will be used. I usually wouldn't give it another thought, but am feeling really guilty about it!

Lazy Sunday....... trip to the park and watched a film together in the afternoon.

    Spends:
£3.50 at Mr S on bits and pieces that we needed for the lunch and dinner.

Can't believe the school holidays are pretty much over..... DS1 is at a party most of the day, so we're taking DS2 to the cinema. Various deals will mean a spend of around £15 I think.

    Harry potter studios tomorrow......

    Morning!!

Off to the Harry Potter studios this morning... last treat before school begins.

Signature now updated and we own an additional 2% of our house since last month! If only every month could be so good!

    And back....

The Harry Potter Studios were very good and I would highly recommend. Each of us really enjoyed the time that we spent there. The gift shop at the end of the Tour is massive, I would recommend just walking straight through and not looking unless you've budgeted to spend some cash whilst there.

Business trip this week was good - managed not to spend any money in Duty Free!

The boys really enjoyed the first few days at their new school and we experienced lots of positive things which really confirms that it was the right decision to move them.

Had my Sister here over the weekend - looked after my little niece whilst they went out for the say on Saturday. Quite nice having a little girl to look after for a few hours..... the boys adore her.

I've transferred the FD Reg Saves money across to my Nationwide Saves whilst I decide what to do with it...... It'll either stay in saves (next years holiday) or just go against the mortgage.

It's my 40th next March and currently deciding how to mark the occasion!

Hope everyone is enjoying a lovely sunny weekend!

Wow - busy morning catching up with work... that's the downside to being away on business for a few days I guess.

DS2 really didn't want to go to school today, he's so grumpy/stubborn sometimes....

Meeting at school shortly about the curriculum - never had such a meeting at the old school!

And, we need to bake cakes for the cake sale on Friday. Every other week the various year groups take turns baking cakes which are then sold to raise funds. I quite enjoy baking cakes, so something to look forward to.

Nothing exciting at all........ bought a nightie in TKMaxx yesterday for £14.99. Also - I ended up keeping the Cabin Suitcase that came last week. It'll be used at least once a month and is perfect for my needs, so justification complete (in my mind anyway).

    Another beautiful sunny morning......

Just back from the school run, DS2 actually managed to go in with a smile, so that's progress. They were both able to play on the playground for 10 mins before the whistle blew since we were early, so much better that way. Need to make sure we leave in plenty of time each morning.

Todays plans - work (of course), curriculum meeting for DS2 this afternoon, boys are cleaning the inside of the car when they're back from school (their idea), dinner and then spellings/reading/mathletics before bed. The boys are expected to do more work at home, which is fine, just need to get organised, so I've drawn up a little rota to try and keep them (read - me) on track with it all.

    Nothing spent yesterday
Should be no spends today - apart from for school I won't be leaving the house and since the CC is still in the freezer, I can't get carried away with internet shopping either.
  • I think September is becoming one of my favourite months...... Nice and warm - without being too hot, slight chill and dew on the grass on a morning (for some reason it reminds me of being a child and walking to school) and the leaves are just starting to turn. Lovely.

Whilst I sometimes think about how lovely it would be to live somewhere different, such as Florida, I do think i would miss the Seasons that we have in England. I'm actually looking forward to wearing Jumpers, Boots and Coats but I'm just I will be desperate for the Spring/Summer again come the end of Feb.

    Anyway, back to MSE........

We really could do with a food shop, but we're trying to string it out for a few more days. We knocked something up last night that was really rather awful, instead of running out for take away, we each had a bowl of shreddies for supper instead.

Yesterday therefore managed to be a NSD.

    Expecting the same again today.

Need to bake some cakes tomorrow morning for the cake sale on Friday, but already have the ingredients so maybe even another NSD tomorrow.

    What's going on with us??!!

Oh - and shuffled around the Reg Saves money - £950 to my Reg ISA, £1750 to the mortgage and £1,000 in the saves account. Yawn!

Right, have finally decided to open a Stocks & Shares ISA, forms completed - need to pop to the post office to them posted.

Have adjusted my signature as it means my on track MF date has been pushed back by a couple of months.
