Hey young one, thanks for popping in. Enjoy the tea in bed!
Work hard at the lady gym natty!
Ds2 has gone to play at a neighbours. Ds1 has gone to call for a friend but I suspect they have prob gone out for the day so he'll be home again soon and bored as none of his friends are around, bless him.
I've done my freezer/cupboard inventory and just need to meal plan with what we have. Will then do a new menu plan and shopping list. Here comes ds1 on his scooter.0 -
Morning!
Not so sunny here this morning but we're forecast 29 degrees, so I'm sure that mr sunshine will be making an appearance soon. It's quite nice to have a little bit of cloud....
We ended up going to a BBQ at our neighbours yesterday afternoon - the children all played in various paddling pools and the water slide, a good time had by all. We all ate too much and drank a little bit too much..... The bottle of booze that I brought back from Milan this week went down very well. White chocolate with grappa.
I had some annadin and a very large drink of water before going to bed and seemed to do the trick, no hangover today.
Our plans for a day out have failed epically (as ds1 would say). We didn't wake up until nearly 9 and everyone is feeling a bit exhausted as we've had quite busy weekends recently. So, we're having a lazy day instead. We've got picnic stuff so might pop to a local park with that late morning.
Despite the BBQ yesterday, we still managed to have a NSD! I managed to find bits and pieces in the fridge so utilised that rather than doing my usual trick of going straight to the supermarket and buying more food and drink to take with us.
Sadly, will need to spend a few pounds today as we're out of loo rolls and coffee.0 -
Your Milan bottle purchase sounds fab lula, hope the sun made its scheduled appearance and you're having a lovely lazy dayFebruary13 - £74990 (or thereabouts)

Another beautiful day.....
Walked to the shop this morning to pick up the loo rolls and coffee.... DH spotted a new frying pan, but I uttered the word's "we're totally bl**dy skint til payday" and he promptly put it back.
I prepared the picnic lunch and we ate it in the garden - very nice it was too.
Did some gardening, looks much tidier now. We'd like to get some climbing roses for the garden - does anyone know if there is a good time for buying/planting these?
Dinner tonight is a very simple bacon/cabbage/new potatoes - we will eat in the garden as it's still so lovely - thankfully cloudy now so it won't be too hot.0 -
Bit of menu planning - enough in the freezer/cupboards to last until the weekend (and payday).
I've done a menu plan which will then do for a further 2 weeks along with the shopping list. Will be great to get the food spends under some sort of control again. Had a chat with DH about it and he seems to be fairly on board with reducing the spends in this area so that's great....0 -

Eeeeee you little tinker0 -
I still struggle with menu planning unfortunately - mainly because I've never been certain if kids would be eating at home and what they/I feel like eating when the time comes:cool:
I do agree that it's the way forward though, and definitely reduces unnecessary *costs

With menu planning you just have to resign yourself to pretty much eating what's on the list, give or take a day or so. Once you get in to the swing of it it's fine...... Just takes some time. In some ways it's great as you don't need to think about what to cook/each each day.0

Meant to say we've menu planned forever, it's menu planning on a budget that I find tricky. I just need to ignore some of the meal suggestions when I look through the cookbooks as some meals cost a bleeding fortune to make.0
