Morning Lula
Coffee and IPad in bed sounds lovely. I'd hoped for something similar before an appointment at lunchtime but when I checked my diary last night it's much sooner than that so I'll need to leave in a mo
It sounds like you've made the right decision for you re the house, you're doing so well with your current mortgage and there will be other houses in the future that will be right for you and whatever your finances look like then
My mortgage is just on my shoulders too. I saw a house I just fell in love with a couple of months ago but it would have meant nearly doubling the mortgage. It was doable on paper for me but after wrestling with the decision for a weekend I knew I would have trouble sleeping too. Can't say I dont keep thinking about the house (as I do!) but I know in my heart I've made the right decision for me at this time
Hope your plans for the day work out. Weird weather here-stormy, black and threatening out of one window and beautiful sun and blue sky out the other, bet I know which side wins!
Regards

Hi Lula, house buying decisions are so difficult.
I agree with you, I wouldn't want the burden sitting solely on my shoulders either.
It's a weird day here - woke up to grey sky, then brilliant sunshine and wind, popped my washing on the line and it started to pour

Abouttime/Tilly - thanks for popping in and for your words if support, much appreciated xx
Just back with the boys, I took them out on their bikes. The wind is picking up now...... If the rain holds off we're going to walk down to the local coffee shop for some lunch and if not it will be beans on toast.
My preferred option is beans on toast however Ds1 is insistent in going to the local coffee shop as one of his friends parents own it and apparently they aren't doing well and might need to close down. He's only 9 and so I'm quite proud that he wants to support them.0 -
Hmmmm, £16 spent at the local coffee shop. Didn't enjoy it. I know the owner so asked how it was going and she said great, so I've told ds1 not to worry too much about the future of their business in the hope that he won't badger me in to going again. Jees, I sound awful, I don't mean to be, but I don't eat out that often and so when I do I want to make sure that I really enjoy it.......
My house work needs doing but I'm revisiting the urge and hoping I can hold back with the Hoover and duster since the cleaner will be coming for the first time on Thursday. I don't believe in cleaning for the cleaner, although I know people that do, but that just seems like madness to me.0 -
Lulabaloola!!!!!
How lovely that we're both here at the same time:D
I was thinking of you last week, as I was at a meeting in Glasgow and wandered into HoF sale.....so many lovely bags and I was unbelievably tempted.
Firstly though, I am hugely impressed at your mortgage reduction:T I remember the days when we were 'on par', not now though - you are a good £20K ahead of me!!!! (that reminds me actually, must check out my mortgage balance at beginning July to update my sig:cool:)
Secondly.....I am WILDLY jealous that you have taken on a cleaner. How very dare you have both a reduced mortgage AND a clean and tidy house;)February13 - £74990 (or thereabouts)
MND - Let's go for 2020 'cos it's got a nice ring to it:D

Hey Natty - thanks for popping in!!!!
Cleaner doesn't start until Thursday, so the house isn't exactly clean and tidy just yet.... I can visualise what it will look like when it is though!!
Hopefully you'll hang around the forum and keep me company, I missed you xx0 -
Btw Natty, I've been good and have stayed away from the stores that have sales going on. I've peeked a bit via the Internet but haven't actually been in store to touch and feel any bags as I know I most likely wouldn't be able to resist. My willpower is at an all time low and I need to build my resistance.....
What were you tempted with?0 -
I missed you too......still wish we all lived close by one another in RL;)
I was so hoping it would be wall to wall sunshine today, however bit dull and drizzly up here so you're possibly quite pleased that you don't live close by!

I can happily do the on line browse but it's the touching of the squishy leather that makes me just want to splurge....I was tempted with EVERYTHING - bags and purses!!! My friend bought me back a really lovely (and you might hate me for this!) fakey M bag and purse from Turkey. I had lunch yesterday with a friend who has the genuine article and she was cooing over my fake one - although perhaps was just being kind as she secretly thought 'mink'!February13 - £74990 (or thereabouts)

It's fairly pants weather here too.... Slightly sunny one minute and then a bit of rain and constant wind.
A fake? You naughty thing! Just kidding, each to their own, it's just a bag afterall hun. What's it like?
John Lewis have done a price match for me on the small item I bought and have refunded me the difference, very happy and means it can stay as its quite a bargain. It's not a bag or a purse but it is mulberry. :rotfl:0
