New bedding is very good for the soul though lula.....I know that guy said it was chicken soup, but I'm certain he hadn't experienced the deep joy that only brand new sheets and pillow cases can bring:D
Every so often I get so sick of the current (and embarrassing) state of my house and wish I had a large pot of money to do the most fantastic grand design job.....however I think that secretly I like to have a project on the go, and if my house was perfect......I'd be a little bit bored:shhh:February13 - £74990 (or thereabouts)
MND - Let's go for 2020 'cos it's got a nice ring to it:D

And then you'd have time to get up to even more mischief :rotfl:.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

It will definitely help to a point, but it's really some extra space that would be nice and also to get away from the rubbish parking in our street. I'm so fed up with inconsiderate people parking in our tiny little street instead of using their drives. It astonishes me - they'd rather cause a problem blocking the road instead of using their perfectly formed driveways!
I know how you feel on this. I too have that sort of problem, I live close to a station so we have cars all over our road because they don't want to pay the car parking costs. You see them arrive at 6am and if my car isn't parked outside my house then, I don't get anywhere near my home till they leave late at night.
I would love to just pick my house up and deposit it elsewhere, just like you can in USA.0 -
Oh Ally, that would really drive me insane... I don't envy you that one at all. For me its just a couple of stupid neighbours who just don't just don't use their brains... Oh, and their stupid friends of course. We're in a little culdesac of just 10 houses so you'd think it wouldn't be a problem. But some people just don't think......
I'm not sure how many of you use recyclable shopping bags but Sainsbury's have just started selling today some Comic Relief bags that have been designed Lulu Guinness. They are very cute. Priced at £5 each with £1.50 going to Comic Relief.
I have of course bought the set of 3 as they're fab and I've also bought a set for my mum as she loves that sort of thing.
They are being sold on eBay for £15.99 each plus delivery which is nuts.
Just thought I'd let you know - typical of me, buying "bags" again!!

Right, well we're definitely not going to move any time soon....
However
Talks have turned to a loft conversion. We've considered it for a few years but have taken the step of arranging for a builder to come round tomorrow. We first of all want to find out whether our ideas are possible and then also to get a ball park figure to see if it makes sense financially.
Dh has been doing lots of drawings and I've been checking out Rightmove and looking at similar houses to ours that already have the additional floor and checking out the floorplans etc etc.
I also went to look at a showhouse today to get an idea of how it will look.....0 -
5 days until payday..... Accounts are fairly empty. (Actually very empty)
I've listed a bag on flebay, trying to be good. Will OP or save the money if it sells...
Should really do some regular ebaying. Perhaps in a couple of weeks.
Last day of school hols here this week, normality will return next week as DH will also be back at work.
I ordered the new bedding sets (to have a choice) fom next. Everything was in stock. Why then does everything arrive in dribs and drabs for days/weeks. It's so annoying......0 -
Builder men came today... Not sure if the loft conversion is going to be financially feasible.... They are coming again next week and meeting at our house with a structural engineer to discuss options... They'll then do the maths and let us know the approx cost.
So, loft conversion is looking iffy.... It's to do with the roof supports and supporting walls or something or other...
