I think we'll go down the traditional buying with a mortgage route, lol!!

    22p account tidy....

Going out for a "Valentines Lunch" today with DH..... the children are not around today, so we thought we'd make the most of it. It's cheaper than going out for a dinner and means that we don't need a babysitter. Plus, I'm away in to London on Thursday with work anyway.....

    Thanks Ally...

Lunch was nice - it was nice to get out of the house with DH and be child free for a couple of hours.

We went to look around the showroom of a David Wilson site nearby.... They had a lovely one but they aren't building any more of them and the rest didn't meet my exacting requirements, lol! They were also rather overpriced IMO.

We then drove around and did some drive by viewings of houses that we had seen for sale on rightmove but to be honest we ending up just thinking "Meh"......

Whilst we like the idea of a move, neither of us are ready to deal with the stress and expenses of it. So, looks like we will stay put for a wee while longer.

I've ordered some new bedding sets to add some Spring time cheer to our bedroom.... I tend to do this every now and then when we think about moving as it reminds us that our house is fine. It might not have all the bells and whistles that we would ideally like to have, but it's home and it's affordable and that counts for a lot.

    No shoes/bags/clothes - hurrah!!
  • Hi Lula, no idea whether this will help you. We went through a period of wanting to move a few years ago. A friend of ours advised us to sort the house out, ie tidy, decorate, rearrange and make it look as though we were selling. She said it will make you appreciate what you've got - she was right, it worked.

May help, may not but may be worth having a go with one room maybe?

Worked for me - tidied up and I no longer want to move to Spain........ NOT :rotfl:. Did work when I was thinking of moving in the UK.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Thanks Tilly, it sounds like a plan..... It will definitely help to a point, but it's really some extra space that would be nice and also to get away from the rubbish parking in our street. I'm so fed up with inconsiderate people parking in our tiny little street instead of using their drives. It astonishes me - they'd rather cause a problem blocking the road instead of using their perfectly formed driveways!

And, I'm fed up of them running over the front of the grass and churning it up when it's wet.

Thing is, I suppose these are minor things and I know it could be a million times worse but it just bugs us.

Anyway, sprucing up will certainly make do for the time being, maybe even longer!

I guess the quicker we can pay this mortgage, then the more options we will have in a few years time... Whether its move, b2l or maybe even a property abroad... Who knows where this journey will take us!

In the meantime, new bedding has been ordered along with co ordinations "bits"......

Gally, you always make me smile, thank you x
  • Hi Lula, if it's the outside then that's much more difficult. Good luck, Tilly

Yep, a little trickier, but it's just minor things really....
