A rather delayed diary update early on Thursday morning for Tuesday and Wednesday.
Can't really remember much about Tuesday to be honest. Slept most of the day, bloody prescription, and then caught up on emails and surveys. The post brought a free energy monitor from Carillion, formerly EAGA, which I had ordered as my British Gas one is broken and they won't replace it without charging me! Also received the cash card for my new Co-operative Bank saving account. Also had a rejection letter for a Bank of Scotland reward current account that I had applied for as need to move my accounts from RBS as I am in debt to them. Fingers crossed the Santander £100 free cash one comes through instead. It has tracked for £56.65 on Top Cashback so fingers crossed that's a good sign!
Can't remember spending any money as didn't leave the house but that's never stopped me before; damn u evil internet! Lol.
Hardly slept Tuesday night so kept getting up and doing things such as scanning DVDs and CDs for Music Magpie and Turn Into Cash. The latter is offering over £10 more so will go with them when I get round to it; another £41.92 for the war chest! Then spent some money unfortunately but I have to say it was a deal too good to miss and it's all thanks to MSE. I ordered £50 of food shopping, plus £3 delivery, from tesco.com; my first ever online grocery order. There were codes for £15, £5 and free delivery (£3) and also got £5 courtesy of Quidco so the £53 came down to £25 and there was a vacant slot for the same evening. This delivery, along with the food I already have in the house should last me well into December. Stocked up on loads of tins and packets, all value except Oxo cubes (24 for £1.50) and 600g Cheerios (only £1.37), fruit, dishwasher tablets, milk, squash and three bottles of gin! Gin and slimline tonic is my tipple of choice when it comes to spirits so thought I'd stock up with enough to last me well into 2012! The free delivery code didn't come off so I phoned Tesco who refunded the £3 without quibbling. They also refunded my two bags of pears as there was one in each bag that was mushy. Very impressed by the service and no substitutions at all.
Nipped out to Sainsbury's as forgot to order matches, to light my broken gas fire while my boiler is broken, and also needed slimline tonic (basics) as Tesco don't do a value one. Also picked up a few reduced items: eight crusty rolls (86p), four blueberry muffins (59p) for when my neighbour comes for coffee tomorrow, six eggs (69p) and eight puff pastry mince pies (£1.00). Rushed back to ensure I was in for the Tesco delivery and decided to make more of my carrot, lentil and ham soup using my bargain carrots. Also roasted a chicken, a reduced one that was in the freezer, as was expecting two friends over for dinner, hence the soup too. Plans changed and dinner is now on Thursday so have had to put the cooked chicken into the fridge. Will need to reheat the meat tomorrow for our roast dinner but not sure how. Any tips guys and girls? Also cooked a lemon meringue pie for Thursday's pudding; made my own pastry but used up a packet mix for the lemon but that was lurking at the back of the cupboard. Just need to add the meringue and bake which I will do at dinnertime. Never been good at meringue so fingers crossed.
Had nipped to the Co-op round the corner late in the morning as wanted milk before the boiler engineer came to quote at noon. Got back to the flat at bang on noon to find he'd already been and can't reschedule his appointment. Really annoyed so am going to email the website who sent him and have resigned myself to the fact that I'll just have to work through the Yellow Pages instead. It feels like it's going to be December by the time I have a working boiler! Was also expecting a veg box delivery which never showed up so I phoned the company who said they meant Thursday so will have that to look forward to.
Have enjoyed four G&Ts this evening so will hopefully sleep well tonight so I'm bright eyed and bushy tailed for my “coffee morning” and my CAB appointment with a money advisor in the afternoon.

if you've still got your carrots and have a freezer then i'd chop them up and freeze them in bags, then you can just add a handfull as you cook things.0

Probably a post that sums up most of DFW, well done LT :T & also
wishing you a fully heated home soon. I've had the joys of central heating for about 10 years now & I still thoroughly appreciate it. Previously there was a gas fire in the living room, electric money eating radiator in DDs room & I'd leave the cooker on a low heat in the kitchen, the rest was an arctic wasteland.
Marty - hello again, you've been busy & well done with Quidco, glad to hear kitty aroma is but a memory.
Be good & as Dragon says ... STOP SPENDING
