Lunches at the pub are a nice wee treat though which we do need every now and then.

Hey Kerri,
Thanks for joining me. Do you have a diary too?
I was thinking about looking in fabric and charity shops for material for throws and cushion covers although I don't know how to sew. I could borrow my mum's sewing machine which she doesn't use but wouldn't have a clue where to start!
I like your idea about impulse spending so I may try it out!
I'm a right mess with it at the moment and there's a lot written in a few posts as I'm trying to fathom what on earth is going on, whilst putting it in writing has made me panic. Yesterday I had £246 in my bank account, now I have about £20. I put it towards my debts though (other than about £20 spent on my OH and sister).
Sewing is easy, hook up the machine and then just go slowly in a straight line. You could maybe ask her for a quick tutorial? Pillow cushion covers are fairly simple, and you could always make them from cutting up old rags/clothes for a quirky look.
Just going to go grate the cheese onto my pasta bake. Have you sorted the boiler out yet?Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Hi Marty it won't let me post my diary link as I'm on a new account but if you click on my name you should find it under my recent posts.

I'm sure it's not as big a mess as you think. It took me a while to admit to my situation and decide to do anything about it. Hopefully the advice I've had from the CCCS and will get from the CAB later this week has started me on a better path but I think it will be a slow journey. Will go read your diary now and have subscribed too.
Would I need a pattern for cushion covers? Will ask my mum for some help and get to cutting up old clothes!Council Tax £1,928.85, Fines £90.00, Old Car Tax £267.00, Gas £337.25, Electric £54.42

You can get free sewing patterns online which you can print out, I've been making my own for card holders and bookmarks using dotted paper and a ruler. Newspaper is best for practicing a new pattern I find, you can cut it out move it around and see what the shape looks like before cutting fabric. They're also free here (metro on the tube) so that helps. If you need any help then please hola.Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

How do you print out patterns on A4 paper for things like cushions which are bigger? Tracing onto newspaper and then copying onto fabric sounds like a good idea. No Metro up here but we do get a free weekly paper through the door although haven't seen it for a few weeks. Will no doubt take up your offer of help!

If I remember rightly, the correct word was envelope cushion cover, d'oh my bad sorry. Found a link for you that I think you could probably make a pattern with using the newspaper. Make a paper cushion cover first. I want to make cushions now, must not buy fabric sewing dot about dot com/od/freeprojects/ss/envelopepillow.htmDiary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

No progress on the boiler yet as the Energy Saving Trust have still to call me back. Got someone coming to quote tomorrow. Registered my job with rated people and heating quoter but only one company has quoted!
