How do I get a louder stereo?

The logarithmic scale baffles me at times - pun intended!
How many times? I know it isn't twice as loud, it's twice the energy. Logarithmic scales don't baffle me. A 3db increase would be noticed by all but the most cloth eared. There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.
In every town, in every state. In every house and every gate.
Wth every precious smile you make. And every act of kindness.

I've got an old kenwood amp which does 5 x 100w rms and it shakes the sofa from the other side of the room, think it's 8 years old now.
A mere infant.
My Trio (Kenwood) 6004 amp, 2x45w rms, which I bought in 1973 for £80 second hand, has just started playing up on the right channel, the only time anything has not been 100%.
Mind you I did have to replace the fuse once due to age related fatigue.I paid £150 just for the speakers alone 12 years ago and they're still going strong and sound great.
See above, I paid £140 second hand, in 1973 for my TLS50's, apart from a couple of new tweeters and some neoprene mounts for the bass cones, they've done me quite well.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
...I do have gold plated cables and they make a difference...
Just my opinion and that of many other qualified engineers on the internet.
Back to the OP, I repeat that your best choice is to listen to some systems in a Hi-Fi shop and/or Currys/Comet

As this is MSE, I must point out that expensive gold plated speaker cables are just audio cable snake oil. Much cheaper and just as good
Just my opinion and that of many other qualified engineers on the internet.
Probably best that the OP listens to them and makes their own decision, since you suggest he/she listens to systems in order to decide.
I can hear the difference between standard and premium cables. Your opinion and that of many engineers matters not; what do you and/or they know that proves I can't?0
