As my old friend once said about a patient at the secure hospital for the criminally insane "...in a way though, he isn't a bad person, I know he cut a womans head off, but he genuinely believed she was the devil and he was saving the world".......it's all in the perception I guess.
True. It's awful when things like that happen as they really do believe these things. There are a lot of serial killers who come across as lovely, intelligent people too...
Anyway, this guy has issues or a sense of humour somebody didn't get!If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
His name isn't Casper is it,he was a friendly ghost.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

I suppose ghosts possess people because that's where they want to be. Of course, they can change their minds if someone better comes along, like a girlfriend or the GF's friend, and set up house in them instead..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0 -

Don't know whether this is a serious or facetious comment...but, actually, that is exactly why I was making the point about "surround yourself with White Light or pray" before heading in there to have a looksee at this guy.....
I have an open mind on what is going on here...and am veering towards "He's just mentally ill - AVOID"...but I'm not going to "close the door" to alternative explanations of a type that don't fit in with 21st century thinking. I simply don't know. We simply don't know.
Hence - the "gird loins...protect...and go on in there to have a look for yourself - but protect yourself" advice I'm giving...0 -
Perhaps the friend is a bit gullible, or the guy could be one of these confidence-trickster types, - the sort who can manipulate and mess with people's minds. I think this is more likely than a spook.. Halloween or not

wow - so many posts! thank you :-)
i can see the reasons people have made for and against meeting him.
from a personal safety point of view i would not go to his house or even her house if he would be there. meeting in a public place sounds like a good plan, hopefully it will add credibility in my friends eyes to what i say/think about him.
i am very concerned about my friend and what she is doing so i want to maintain communication with her. when it all ends in tears i want to be there to help because i am a friend.
Humphrey10 made a point about hypo blood, i guess there is a small chance this is the case so this is another reason i will meet him in a public place just in case this is what happened.
i don't know if he knows that i know... i will find out. i think he does but i'll confirm.0 -

Ok, let's make a huuuuuuuuuuge leap of faith here, and assume he genuinely believes he is "possessed" (I can't believe I'm writing this...).
Would it really be 2nd or 3rd date material to actually admit it? I mean, it takes me longer than that to confess to my secret and shameful habit of dunking cheese into yogurt (don't knock it till you've tried it, it's all I'm saying).
Personally, if a guy I've known for two weeks started telling me about his experience of alien abduction, for example, I would be out the door before he could say "little green men".
Nah, I don't buy it. Noone is perfectly sane and comes out with things like this, nevermind 2 weeks into a new relationship. What's the 3rd date gonna be? A session on the Ouija board? Honestly...0 -

IF he were possessed by a 'ghost' , I don't believe he wouldn't actually know that... he would not be aware of what was happening either before during or after... so I think you can safely say he has mental problems. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. possession or mental problems? either way, this is NOT a joking matter! The OP is concerned (rightly) about her friend. can we have some CONSTRUCTIVE advice here please?
The only sensible advice so far has been to meet the guy away from his house.
would anyone else advise going back to his (perhaps with a couple of strong male friends) and see what happens?
I know what I would do - but then I am prob a bit strange myself. I would go back to hiswith my friend and with some other friends for an impromptu party, then look about for any evidence of anti-psychotic medication! or perhaps his spare room is covered with posters for the anti-christ...........I dunno, anything which isnt 'normal'!0
