still doesn't make a lot of sense. just making the problem worse, even when you're drunk you know that refusing to give a breath specimen is just going to compound the problem
yes but you also knew that you shouldn't be driving in the first place. This is not a person pursuing rational thought!
to the OP - I'd agree with the let him insure his own car or rethink the next purchase if it really is too bad. I do agree though, for the type of car and given his record the quotes don't seem half bad.
5t.What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -

Maybe get some quotes on a 320/318d which is 4 groups lower and not that much slower, may shave a few hundred off the quote you had?"Dream World" by The B Sharps....describes a lot of the posts in the Loans and Mortgage sections !!!0

there is a difference between knowing you've had too many and risking driving thinking you won't get caught and after you've been collared making things much worse by not cooperating.
You are saying that because you are thinking rationally.

Back on the road within 13 months, hasn't really made it much worse than a straight 12 months ban.
To the OP, don't forget this will remain on his licence for the next 10 years.0 -

He will need to declare it for the next 5 years to insurers who ask about the last 5 years only. It will be expensive £1,453 sounds fair. I'd just insure him on the one car and leave him off the BMW insurance.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Some of the "information" on here is dangerous !!!
All insurers will ask if you or other drivers have EVER been banned from driving. You are right tho, 11 years is the length of time you have to disclose it to normal car insurance companies."Dream World" by The B Sharps....describes a lot of the posts in the Loans and Mortgage sections !!!0 -
Not meaning to be pedantic but it's 11 years for a DR30 which is caught driving and failing to supply specimen for analysis.

From date of conviction. He was banned for 13 months. So that would make it 9 years 11 months.:p0 -

Think you'll find they'll ask if you've been disqualified from holding or obtaining a licence. You don't actually get 'banned' from driving.0 -
