  • Thank you for the lovely messages they mean a lot. The minute I make that last payment you will know.  You’ll probably hear the sigh of relief! ☺️
Nothing much to report today. Car is in the garage tomorrow having the brakes looked at. OH had driven the car last week and didn’t notice anything. I drove it today the noise was horrendous. Hopefully just pads or something like that.

  • How have we got to nearly the end of January already! I wouldn’t say I’m having a whole lot of fun in lockdown but time is flying.
The car cost £80 to sort.  We’ve had to purchase a new speaker for the computer as we’re using it for home schooling.....shall we not got there at the moment :-(.  It was only cheap and cheerful, £15 I think.
I went food shopping yesterday, plus we had a delivery from the butcher so total costs for everything £137 this week.  Meat will be for at least 2 weeks.   Then we did a not very MSE thing and had a chippy tea. £18. First takeaway of 2021.
I pegged out yesterday, sad I know but it does make me happy. Just finished it all drying on the heated aired overnight. We do have another two loads to do today.
I’m thinking of banking in all my coins that I’ve been collecting over the past couple of years. I’ve hardly handled any cash since last March so they haven’t really grown. 20p, 5p and some £2 coins. Probably won’t be much but it will give us something to do. My best guess is £45. :-
Hope everyone has a Happy Saturday.
    xx

Hmm..I agree..fun isn’t exactly the word to describe it all is it?!!

is the DFD fast approaching?? We had to shift our DFD back but think all the consumer debt will be gone by the 15th of this month. Then just the house repairs loan to start on ....

    Hi brizzle
That’s good roll on the 15th, then just chip away at the house repair loans. There is always something isn’t there.
I’m trying really hard to make the last debt payment next payday which is end of February if not it will be two weeks after.

  • Update on mortgage, we owe £24K, 4 years to go.
Balance of debt £475.  I feel really nervous about being debt free to be honest..... we need to get there first. 🙄
Boiler service booked this month. I’ve also been thinking that when DS goes back to school none of his new school uniform is going to fit. That’s crazy. He’s just had to have new trainers and there wasn’t much wrong with the others other than they didn’t fit!

Hiya Alice! Great to see you back posting. You have really done so well. It has been a veritable marathon but you've kept going through thick and thin. Your pegging out comments always make me smile too.
All the best for debt free this month.

Oh Wow Alice. You're on the home run now. You'll have to do a then and now post when you do do your final payment. I only joined your journey part way through, so interested in seeing your different circs from the beginning. Even your mortgage hasn't got long. It's funny how at the end it seems ages away (we've got 2 years) but at the beginning of a 25 year term. you just accept it as a monthly cost.
  • Thanks both for your messages. I can’t quite believe it myself.
Went shopping yesterday, spent £160. Not all of it was on food, spent £12 on cards, £45 on underwear for all of us, meal plan done for this week. We do seemed to have eaten like kings during lockdown. Will be reigning the meal plan in when we come out of lock down. Lol.
Housework this morning, kids have to do their bedrooms before the football they want to watch starts. No pegging out today. :-(
Hope everyone has a peaceful Saturday.
    Xx
