  • Hope you managed to get some washing done.

I have mainly been hanging the washing on the airer and on the door frames upstairs.

Today I washed 2 loads of towels as it was supposed to be windy - it was only very slightly windy but quite dull so my towels have not dried and I have about 10 waiting to go on the airer:eek:

Our heating is still off - last year I managed until 6/11.
The weather is so mild here in Suffolk - it is supposed to be around 13c all week and the evenings are not much lower so I can't see the heating being put on before next weekend.

I expect it will get really cold by the end of November.

How are you getting on with the heating Alice - still off?? (I think you are further north than me so you are doing brilliantly:T)
  • Thanks EE and Verbatim, I'm going to call stepchange tomorrow morning and check reference/account numbers etc. imagine of was something so easy but critical as that!! Bcard told me they send the 'letters' to stepchange on a Thursday.....so?!?

On this occasion I have just called Bcard but I will follow your advice and ask stepchange for a copy of the 'letter' and/or write to Bcard.

I'm just being very impatient. Really hope I can get the extra interest charged so far removed. Will keep you posted.

Yesterday (just after my last post on here) we had blue sky's appear and as it was quite windy so I managed to get 2 loads washed and out (small's in the airing cupboard;) ) and they dried really well considering it wasn't out that long. Just finished off on the airing cupboard, or hung in doorways. Have ironed it all tonight, just done another load of muddy clothes as sent the kids over the field today.....got them out of the house.:)

Feel your pain EE, towels are a real pain to get dry. Well done on beating last years date for leaving the heating off. Ours is still off too.:)

Last night we only spent £6.10.

Today we've been shopping, spent £71. That did include cat food and toilet roll, shampoo (for the males in the house), quite a bit of meat too.

Have got money for additional footie for DS, bus money and dinner money, that leaves me with £3.75 in my purse.:)

Hoping for a few more NSDs this week, still on 4.

    Thanks Verbatim, will keep plodding.:)

I have spoken to stepchange and Bcard. Stepchange said they sent another re proposal to Bcard but they won't get it until the end of this week. So I called Bcard and unexpectedly they advised that last months interest and late payment charge has been refunded (I knew about the late payment charge but not the interest). The account has been put on hold for another 30 days from today. Will call Bcard again on Friday to check if they have received info from stepchange.

If no joy will write to Bcard, I can get the info they need off the stepchange website. Should get Bcard statement any day now.

Haven't spent a bean this week so far (only money already allocated), so up to 7 NSDs.

Tomorrow I will need to get petrol, need some milk and pay lottery. Need to send DS some money (£50).

Heating still off, wonder if we could make it to 1st December!! :) Wash basket getting full but holding off and will peg out Friday as weekend weather looks pants.

  • Bcard statement came today, it shows the interest and late payment charge refunded. I'm so pleased about that.:)

Will call Bcard again tomorrow to check re re proposal situation.

Got petrol on way home £30, also picked up milk.......just milk!! :)

Have baked a cake tonight for our fundraising day tomorrow. Also need to take £5 in and some change to buy cakes. Kids need a £1 each too.

Haven't done any washing as weather forecast is pants for tomorrow now......wasn't earlier in the week! Will do some tomorrow, that way can get all 5 days worth of school uniform and work stuff done. Looks like might be able to peg out Sunday morning for a few hours.

OH needs a haircut, also need to get dog food this weekend. Have started next weeks meal plan, thinking going shopping on way home tomorrow. We've got a busy weekend with sports club and don't fancy going Saturday afternoon.

Still on 7 NSDs, and heating still off.

Great that Barclays have refunded both fee and interest. And so they should have. No excuse though for causing you all that worry and effort to get it back.

Thanks Verbatim, although we are not out of the woods with them yet but it certainly is a result.:)

Tonight I've been shopping, spent £37 in @ldi, £29 in sburys. Needed bits like kitchen roll, store cupboard stuff etc.

I have to admit it is pretty chilly in the house tonight. We are in tomorrow night, and if it is still the damp day they forecast I'm thinking we might have to put the heating on.

Messed up meter reading so must do one this weekend. Two loads of washing on airers. Talk of kids matches being cancelled tomorrow due to the weather. :(

    SNAP :rotfl:

I was telling DH last night that I can see the heating coming on today as it is about 8c and we are expecting rain for most of the day which just makes everything damp.

Should be fine for tomorrow as the temperature goes up to 13c

I'm keeping fingers crossed that football is cancelled and you can all bunker down in the house with the heating on:T

EE the football wasn't cancelled, we got soaked. Spent £5.70 in the opposing teams club house on hot choc and the most delish warm sausage rolls whilst we dried out.

We've certainly dried out now........I've put the heating on. Can't believe how disappointed I felt, we did make it to the 14th Nov so that's not bad eh?!? The trouble if I've been roasting this afternoon whilst OH is saying it's just right. Going to turn it off after tea. Will try and leave it off again unless it's damp and miserable.

Got 3 loads of washing on the airers, will put heated airer on tonight.

Did meter readings (first thing this morning, before I put the heating on) we have used £34 over the last 2 weeks.

Had a letter from Bcard confirming account on hold until 10 December. :)

  • oh no can't believe football was on!!

We have also put the heating on:eek:.
I have switched the timer to constant and set the thermostat to 17c and all the radiators came on but by about 12noon they were all off as the house had reached 17c - I have just checked and none are on so the house must be holding the heat.

I'm with you Alice I am too hot - I had to take my jumper off in the end. I'm dreading tonight in case I get too hot in bed!!

I might leave it on constant and let the thermostat do the work in stead of faffing with it all the time - I doubt it will come on for the next few days as our temp is rising overnight from 9c up to 13c and looks like staying that way all week.

We have high winds tomorrow so I am going to wash all the towels and get them on the line.
