Hi! I'm in Ripon, we have a club here that does parties for under 18s - my colleague's daughter has just been to one. They get the fun of being in a nightclub without the alcohol! I wonder if there's one in York that does it

That's just jogged my memory - DD used to go to Fibbers in York with her friends before they were 18 :T I know that it does live music, and they enjoyed it :)

Going to check my list and see what else needs doing ;)

I've just cut the grass back and front. It was far too wet really but it was getting so long that I just went for it. At this time of year you end up not being able to get it done and by Spring it's a nightmare.

That was my saturday as well, as well as finishing tidying up the garden, today is a washing and ironing day, need to give the dog a bath so will finish of the bathroom once OH has cleaned him.

Off to finish a cuppa and catch up here.
  • Good Morning All

I am still here but not much flying done at home- oops Did manage to ring loads of DD's stuff home and she has had a sort through of what she wants to take with her. She is catching the 3 15 train so put paid to my plans for an afternoon of jewellery making. She told me she was going at 9.15 but that train does not run on a Sunday.

House is total chaos with everything we have brought back so best get showered and dressed and start again. Oh and better wake sleeping beauty up!

Will be back on the lists tomorrow.

I have done a deep clean on the kitchen and very nice it looks too.

Just working through the ironing which is an epic job.

Thinking about Toots. Hope all is ok with you.

    Afternoon all!
valli - I'll be in Derby next Saturday; what are the best things to see / do?
Hope you don't mind me answering this. It depends what you like to do, there's a couple of interesting sounding exhibitions on, http://www.visitderby.co.uk/events/astronomical-the-beauty-of-a-thousand-stars and http://www.visitderby.co.uk/events/birds-eye-view.
Shopping-wise, it's lovely to get out of the Westfield Centre & into the Cathedral Quarter for more quirky shops. There's Bennett's http://derbyshire.greatbritishlife.co.uk/article/bennetts-irongate-derby-275th-anniversary-16788/ which is an independent department store & has a good eaterie as well. http://www.zestbennetts.co.uk/
Hope you have a lovely day!

    If it's deleted it's done :j

Clean out all dog / cat / other animals, toys / grooming brushes / check over leads / collars

Add 5 items to this list of your own, that are achievable this week.
    1. done
    2. done
    3. done
    4. Re-elasticate (is that a word?) DD’s trousers
    5. Write article (in progress)

    love to all...

Have spent a couple of days puzzling over my towel rail (radiator type) in the bathroom as it was cold. Trie dbleeding it - was fine. No valves

or so I thought. There are two 'valves', at the bottom, just shiny with no indicator but I fiddle with them and they turned. Tried them both turned towards me then realised there were four possible combinations and then narrowed that down to 2 as they probably need turning fdifferent ways and cracked it. 1 hot towel rail!:D

Laugh is I probably closed them dusting it!

Can I chip in? My flying tasks for tomorrow are:
    [STRIKE]
Deep clean the bathroom (it is a state)[/STRIKE]even scrubbed the grout with a toothbrush!
wash the floors (this is in turn a gym session as I do it on my hands and knees!) decided not to do this until the boiler man pops around next week as it will just get really dirty again!
do my ironing (unless someone wants to pop around and do it for me?!) will be done tonight when i watch the results for strictly and x-factor :)

I hoovered today and that made a difference :)

Currently making salsa chicken tacos for tea tonight in my slow cooker and the smell is driving me nuts! Is it dinner time yet?! Hope everyone has had a good day so far

Froddy - I don't know Derby (city) too well (well not the centre) and haven't been shopping there for eons although I can negotiate it. And get from Nottingham to Derby and back again thanks to Brian Clough;) so Cally seems to be the one. And I know where you can park up (near Alvaston) 1 - when you're lost and 2 - when you break down :rotfl: was the same place!

Dog has been walked. It was so lovely and warm, it is hard to believe it is November!
Food shopping has been done. We also popped into Currys & Homebase in search of a large cardboard box that DD2 wants for her photography work (looked at cameras aswell :)). Managed to get one in Homebase, but it is hexagonal and about 4ft tall! We had a job getting it in the car, so I don't know how she is going to get it to school tomorrow, when there are 6 of us in the car!
I think I may assemble the lasagne & then do some studying. The house is a tip :(

    ETA updated list:

[STRIKE]walk the dog (I may do that first, as it is glorious this morning)[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]food shopping[/STRIKE]
cook dinner (mince cooked yesterday, need to assemble lasagne)
prepare 2 forum discussions for uni work (one on ethics, one on learning styles)
prepare paperwork for visit tomorrow of new LO
make sure house is presentable for visit of new LO (well, her Mum really)
invoice for Miss T - and chase last weeks payment

    Ooh - i haven't done the invoice - I will do that now :o
