Sparkles has a really good point about the tax, Taxi - on the amounts you mention, using the offset money is best, but if it means you're unable to claim tax back on interest paid (can you do that with a business loan? I don't even know any more) then the net figure might change at Taxi Direct.

Glad you managed to speak to DD - obviously, something that big, you're not going to get it all sorted in one go :( Slow but steady.

I really hope this pain gets sorted soon, it sounds almost unbearable. Thinking of you.

  • Taxi have you looked at the 0% Purchase credit cards? There are some that are quite long now ie 24 mths.. then maybe offset it at the end? Might be worth looking into? Obviously there will be a fee but it will be less than the interest the garage are talking!!!

I managed to get the local citreon garage to match the cash price of the taxi centre.
So have just put £200 deposit on it so that he could order the car for me and will pay the rest cash on delivery estimated to be 11th sept.
I've ordered the money from my mortgage account..my mortgage is only 0.99% interest.
As far as tax is concerned it's a capital allowance per year plus interest...am not bothered about the interest as it's only just over £200 in total for the 4 years 7 months.
My main aim is to make the bills as small as possible as there is only DH working the cab at the moment.
The vectra is now 5 years old so the subs and repair bills are very expensive, plus steam cleaning the engine and valeting every 6 months..the new car also does more MPG ...so at the end of the day the new car is near enough paid for with the savings in subs and no big repair bills either.
If I start to shop frugally then we can probably pay it off before the 4 years 7 months left on the mortgage.

Wow, thats brilliant news on the weight loss, snd the new taxi, as you said it will pay for itself in the long run.

Thats positive that your speaking to DD, even if its general chit chat, its a line of communication that wasn't there before.

Glad the pups are ok, they sound so lovely, and glad Tess and Ben have taken to them. They sound like the tonic you need,

Thats good that you have a cancellation for physio, if you ask the health visitor or occupational thearpist or even physio, in our area you get a referall and they have a centre that is laid out as a house, and all equipment in the room, anything they say you need, you have on a long term loan.

They will measure you up for the right size xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
