That weight loss has really added up, hasn't it. Congratulations!

Not sure I'm getting back on here after this morning, so I'll just wish you a Happy Christmas now - hope you have a lovely time.

Today will be spent pottering around the house doing bits and pieces and maybe a little walk after.I've washed up and got the washing on and have just put lunch on to cook ready for when DH gets home.
Between now and 5th jan I want to get my course work done,my accounts done and to accountant and keep on top of the housework so will limit my time on here and allocate time each day to achieve these aims.
Am just having another cup of tea and then will start on my jobs..organised is what I need to be.

It's getting going though that is the problem for me...lol

Have had a word with DH today about the cab as I'm not happy with these split shifts that he's doing and am trying to think in the long term.I have now left myself with a bit of a dilemma and need to put some more serious thought in to what to do next.

I will not be driving the cab again...DH doesn't want me to nor do I want to.
DH is driving it 7am-11am mon-fri plus 5pm-11pm mon-thurs and 5pm-3am sat and 5pm-12pm sun..this is not the most productive way to earn the most we can from this asset(though it is for a one man car)

By the time we have paid the subs and fuel we are only left with about £300 per week..this has to cover all other cab costs and household bills inc mortgage etc etc..and leaves no money left for replacement vehicle.

So,I can think of a couple of options
    (1) Take on a driver on half share basis for days and DH drive nights but do the full 6-6 shift....I think he may bring in as much as he does now over the nights as he does on the split shifts and a half share driver will probably pull enough for us to cover the cab rent and some of the other bills from his half share
    (2) Once cab is beyond economic repair..DH go and drive half share for somebody else...saving subs/maintainance costs

I'm swaying towards option 1 and have persuaded DH to consider this..his reasons against are that nobody looks after your car like you do and more wear and tear.

I will not use a CC or credit to prop the business up again and if we carry on the way we are with DH doing split shifts we will not be able to afford to replace the vehicle as we certainly cannot afford HP payments.

I am re-training at the moment to get a job when I'm well enough to sit for long periods and to have the energy to work full time again.

Well that's my ramblings for now ..mmmmmmm

Great result on the weightloss Taxi :T,

as KC said, you really do leave everyone else in the shade when you're fired up :D.

Plenty to think about re the cab; I can't really offer any helpful advice as it's out of my knowledge zone but I think that option one would still leave you in control of the business & if you find the right person, you/DH & other driver maybe have the option of becoming a partnership so the costs & replacement could be shared & the joint ownership woud ensure other person takes as good care as you do yourselves.

Presumabley this would also leave you with someone to keep earning when you & DH have your holidays ( not sure if you just shut shop or already have someone to fill in for you).

It's good that you're already thinking ahead & gives you both some thinking space for possible options.

Just dont rush yourself into taking on work before you're feeling fully capable :)

    xx

The cab isn't out when we are away but still have to pay subs to the office but if we had a driver then it can be out working for us...

No danger of me hurrying back to work as am nowhere near fit enough and know my limitations..am going to do my course and then hopefully a volunteer position in admin to get another qualification and reference as don't suppose anyone will want me with no experience in that field

DH and I have decided to put a driver on.I popped to the office earlier to discuss this and they said they'd put us down on the list for a driver so will check in a couple of weeks to make sure they've done that. After new year I'll put an advert in the job centre and then hopefully we'll get one.
Haven't done much today only go to office and pop to shop for bread and milk..
have some housey jobs today tonightso best get on with them.
