think she just wants me to get into something that is fun and requires me to interact with people as I've become socially inactive since May 2010...I'm just a bit lost at the moment and spend loads of time on my own in the house..a habit I need to get out of0

Good idea to start the accounts with a new month and then you can deal with the messy bits when you feel like it and know it is not getting any messier
Card making seems a really good idea and you have lots of family to practice on!
Don't blame you burying your head in the sand deal with what you have to and let the rest wash over you but I think you are doing really well.
Hope you have a good weekend
Hugs DTxx0 -
Taxi, a wee suggestion if I may, I recently started going to a speech club, I am having an absolute ball at it,( there is no pressure to speak at all)
People get up tell their stories in so many ways
I am enjoying it much more than I ever thought I would ... Would you maybe think of something like that. ?0 -

Have debated whether to post this or not as don't want to jinx things !!!!!!
My breast cancer nurse called earlier as I was discussed in the team meeting this morning. My oncologist wasn't there at the meeting due to family circumstances.
I was surprised to get the call as even though she normally phones me after these meetings to give me the news I didn't think she would today due to my mental state.
I'm also left a little confused by her call as the questions I asked her she couldn't quite answer...so here goes.
She said that everyone at the meeting was very happy as the chemo had seemed to have worked.
She said there had been no spread to liver, lungs etc...fantastic
She said lymph nodes had gone down
She mentioned a nodule on right lung not being there..never knew I had one so she said perhaps that was them just saying that there was nothing there
She mentioned an area that had shrunk that they thought was scar tissue around area of my op..guess that could've just shrunk naturally...very weird.
She DID NOT mention the sub pectoral region which is where the cancer definitely was..so I asked her about it and she said she was just reading what was written and seeing as it isn't mentioned it's probably gone.Obviously, she's not a radiologist so doesn't understand everything but the radiologists were in there.
See how I'm confused. She said the radiologists etc were very happy with my response to treatment and ultimately everything else is up to my oncologist.
I'm hoping he is back for my appointment with him on weds and then he can have a good look and explain things to me.
Think we can safely say it hasn't spread which is good news.Hopefully with the radiologists being happy with the response to chemo and no mention of the cancer in sub pec muscle it may have gone..the scarring/shrinking bit is a mystery...but things sounding ok.
I am not counting my chickens yet but if you can all pray, keep your fingers crossed etc I'd be so greatful x0 -
Taxi that is wonderful news ... A very positive phone call for you ... Fingers crossed that next Wednesday confirms the above in more detail for you and produces a plan of action for the remainder of the situation
Really delighted for you xxxx0 -
That sounds fab Elantan. How does it work?
Well my club works to association rules, we have four speakers a night and 12 topics, we have four reviews for the speakers giving them advice etc on ways for them to improve and a general evaluator that talks about how the evening went
I have only ever done topics just now as I am really not confident at talking, there are some right good characters there, some of the tales they tell us have me crying with laughter, the cost is £45 a year and the group runs from sep till the end if march ( I worked it out at roughly £2 a week) worth every penny tbh
There are clubs all over the U.K so hopefully one near where you live , you don't pay until you decide to join, you can go for the full year and not pay .... So if you were looking just for a chance to get out and meet people and have a laugh but didn't want to get involved in speaking... That's also allowed ( as far as I know )0 -
taxi - that sounds the most amazing news, keep fingers and everything crossed for you, big hugs from us all xxxxxxxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0
