  • Weird weather at the moment. Fortunately I managed to dry my washing on the line before it started to pour :)

I was supposed to be out with friends tonight to a jazz evening but I had to wimp out as I'm knackered :rotfl: I've got loads done and need a quiet night.

I'm going to church tomorrow, visiting friends for dinner tomorrow. In the afternoon I'm finishing my weeding. I've finished the planting scheme for our driveway wall and been to a garden centre and taken pics. Just need to make sure I see the gardener. If not, I'll have to send it over to friend to pass on.

I think a glass of wine is needed - tonight I've cheated and have bought a lasagne to have with salad.

    Best wishes Tilly x x

    Hello Tilly,

The plans for the house sound amazing. Sounds like you are making the most of your trip, being very productive and enjoying every spare moment.

When I'm having a weak moment on my MF journey I shall remember that I too can be a reckless woman once my mortgage is paid off :)

Plans sound fantastic, Tilly - and you certainly sound like you've been very busy whilst in Portugal - hopefully you can get more of a rest when back in the UK! :D

I'm back in the UK and although the weather in Portugal has been wet and windy often, it hasn't been cold. Big difference to here.

It was a full-on time there and quite a lot of sorting and decision making done. We are having carob, avocado and almond trees planted in part of the big field. These will take about 3-5 years to be fruiting well but that works well for our timescale. We can take them to the local companies that buy them and the profit should cover our winter fuel bills.

DD thinks she has found somewhere to buy near Uni. As she will be there for a few more years, it's a sensible plan. It will be an outright purchase and we need to see an IFA/TA. It will need some TLC but looks like the kids are suggesting a working holiday for the summer.

Boy this MFW journey is life changing.

Keyboard is playing up - will update later.

Evening, wet and windy here. Dogs were walked early this morning, then a fab time at church. It's great to worship with people who don't bash you over the head with a bible. Looks like there could be some exciting opportunities to serve in our community which will be interesting.

Roast beef for dinner, thanks Mr T, and it smells delicious. Menu plan for February went slightly off the rails due to me being away but Mr T did use up HM dishes from the freezer. I should be able to defrost the freezer by middle of March.

Our beautiful female dog is now a blood donor :T. One blood donation can help up to four dogs which is marvellous. The whole procedure, including settling them and rewarding them takes 20 minutes of which giving blood is 5 minutes. Clever girl :)

Am seeing mum tomorrow then visiting a house with DD. As the kids will be buying it together it's an interesting project.

Thank you to everyone who has popped in - I've been very remiss in posting recently but that's down to looking at kitchens and bathrooms :T

Mr T is beckoning - aka shouting, must mean dinner is ready.

    Night, Tilly x x x

    Fascinating about dog :)
And yes, this journey does seem to be so life changing.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!
