Nice one, Tilly, hope its been good. Lovely that you're getting out!
2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • Afternoon, lovely weekend and weather was great in London. Loved being out and about, no pre set schedule to adhere to, just rambling.

I've claimed £8.40 from TCB and that's in Future fund now. Mr T and I are revisiting our budget this coming weekend and I'll be able to post % to target after that.

I have a list of people to call but haven't been around much to sit down and ring. For the next five weeks our feet won't be touching the floor much and then we will be away for almost three weeks. Mr T and DS at flying out later. We were having Christmas in the UK but arrival of great grandchildren means mum will be off elsewhere. She will LOVE it.

Off for a blinking fast walk now.

    Best wishes Tilly

  • Evening, 4th power walk in a row. Loving it. I'm hoping I can get back into jogging :)

Oven broke down and we've had to buy a new one. By the time we would have paid for the repair, it made more sense to start again.

Mr T and DS removed the old cooker last night and I STUPIDLY turned the fridge off  I spent this morning creating meals from the stuff I keep in the small freezer :rotfl: Muppet that I am.

Mr T and I have had a walk together this evening. We had planned on taking the hounds but then remembered it's Bonfire Night - they stayed indoors watching TV instead, with the volume turned up high and the curtains drawn :A

Mr T and I both have F!tbits now and we finally got round to setting them up this evening. I also know it is a 5600 ish step walk to the nearest supermarket and back :T

Mr T is on a serious diet. He has lost 9lbs - I had thought I'd save the FBit for Christmas but decided the motivation factor was more important.

All in all it has been a busy but rewarding week. I have more ironing than I know what to do with. That's my first job tomorrow. Then off for a walk with the hounds.

Wishing everyone a good night's sleep - will be checking the F!tbit in the morning :rotfl:

    Ohhhh, ding dong Mr T :D :T:D:rotfl:
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

  • Yes well done him. Wish I could lose nine pounds. Inspired by his example I will be off for a walk first thing tomorrow!
Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D
  • Evening, Mr T is definitely feeling pretty chipper with himself. He's almost under the next stone barrier which is good for motivation.

I am learning about the F'tbit and how to use it. Pity I hadn't done that last night as I was interested in my sleeping stats.

Menu planned for next five weeks, after that we will be off piste until early January :T

£50 cash back claimed from cooker purchase :T

£80 cheque received today and will bank tomorrow.

All ironing finished bar 5 shirts/T shirts - guest bedroom made up and bathroom cleaned. Leaving date confirmed of lovely lodger. We are going to really miss him as will the dogs :(

I have a short list of jobs for tomorrow and once DS and Mr T have had a skip run, we are all off for a dog walk, with a coffee/hot chocolate for DS half way.

Project use up is well under way on the food front :T. I've hardly spent anything during the last two weeks apart from fruit and milk, th a few fresh veg. Tomorrow will be more milk and fruit but that's IT :j. All extra funds being moved to Future pot.

DD is away this weekend and likely to be sleeping outside - the joys of team building. I'm hoping she doesn't float away.

Right, off for an early night. Mr T has worked like a nutter this week and we only have this weekend free until we go away, so rest is required.

 Just catching up and wanted to say hi and a big thanks. I've been meal planning and finally worked out why it didn't really work for me - but - I get the idea about a one month plan and think I've finally figured out how to make that work for disorganised me! Currently ebaying stuff to save enough to buy a second freezer for the outbuilding so I can put plan into action :)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

    Hello Tilly

Walking is one thing, but what is this jogging of which you speak?

Congrats to Mr T - impressive in any event, but having read your menus and cooking, I can't see how it would be possible to lose anything in your house :)

And on the freezer, I did one stupider … a few weeks ago I went away for a few days. Was just getting geared up to MFW and very pleased with myself that I for once thought to go round switching off all the plugs before I left. Four days later … yes, well let's just say it wasn't only my lack of your expertise that prevented me making meals out of the fridge/freezer/flood remnants ….:doh: Congrats for salvaging yours :T

Enjoy your walks and weekend xx

  • Afternoon, I've had a lovely walk with Mr T and a power walk (her phrase not mine:cool:) with a chum.

Really delighted to have more energy now :T

I've managed to snag three free tickets to see Jamie Cullum at the Indigo O2 - thanks Showfilmfirst

Hollyboll - what a horrible thing to return to :(

I hope everyone is having a smiling Saturday. It's been pouring today but managed to do both walks in the sun.

I think a nana nap is called for now.
