Thought of you this morning Tilly … the news said 100 days!!

Morning, yep it's 99 sleeps to go :)

We are still trying to decide what to do for Christmas this year. There's a possibility we may go on holiday but does depend on mum.

I'm way behind on stuff at the moment and my To Do list seems to be growing.

Need to get cracking as I'm meeting a friend for a walk this morning.

    Have a good day, Tilly x x

  • Evening, what a weird day. Glorious sun this morning and breakfast in the garden. Poured with rain all afternoon and hasn't stopped.

Loving my Surface and starting to become more familiar with it.

I've made a vat of BNS soup, along with with cottage pies. 5 CP meals for four in the freezer, plus some in freezer to take to a chum who's under the weather. Soups bagged for two people, 10 packs in the freezer.

DS is off out on Friday night so DD and I are going to have a beauty night. Face packs, pedicures and manicures :)

    No money news.

  • Thank you from me too for the fab menu plan - I look forward to exploring! :)

Tilly what do you put in your BNS soup (apart from the butternuts!)?
Currently watching 'Eat Well for Less' ... clearly not a patch on your menu plans, but the 'blind' taste tests are quite good ....

Hi, I cut them in half, scoop out seeds (I sometimes roast them and spice), I put a good glut of olive oil in the well, sprinkle cumin, a little cinnamon, garlic, ginger, chilli flakes then put them in the oven to roast with a couple of peeled whole onions.

After anything from an hour to 1.5 hours I take them out, leave them to cool, then blitz BNS and onion with HM stock. Couldn't be simpler and tastes delicious. When I'm warming to serve I often add skimmed milk (Mr L cartons) to thin to the right consistency. Any left over/stale bread I turn into croutons, throw on the top, along with a swirl of creme fraiche.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks so much for emailing the plans.
You have mentioned before making a biscuit/cookie recipe that you keep frozen as a roll of dough. Then you can cut 6 or so off at a time and cook as you need thus lessening temptation to eat loads of biscuits. I love this idea and would be grateful for the recipe please

  • Morning Lindens, I'll ask DS which recipe he uses as he often does that. I think it's a Mary Berry one. Will post later :)

I hope the meal plans are useful.

  • Morning, a delightful grey day. On a bright note, we are walking the hounds shortly.

I need five items from Mr L today, so shopping will be quick. Salmon, parsley sauce and veggies for dinner. It will be an early dinner as we are possibly going to the theatre. Will discuss on our walk and pop and buy tickets if it's a Yes.

Had a lovely time whilst boys were watching rugby. Nails looking very smart.

The next two weeks have pay days and it feels quite odd. I've had a mortgage since I was 21 and to think that we can save this is :j

Right, mint tea then hound walk.
