What a fab Easter weekend, albeit damp.
Now what shall I do this week during my time off? A trip to Halifax tomorrow, a visit to the bank to pay some cash in, then a trip to the kids building society to take their cash out and fill up their second year junior ISAs. That's all the financial stuff done I think. Will get that knocked off tomorrow so I can have some real time with DS. DD is revising so DS and I are off bike riding - looking forward to that but the weather forecast is not looking good. Won't be taking the disposable BBQ that's for certain.
Have a good week all, best wishes Tilly x2004 £387k 29 years - MF March 2033:eek:

Hi Tilly
Hope you get some quality time with the DC, even if revision is in the air!
Good news re ski gear. £1200 is pricey but hope she loves it! :-)

Hi Brizzle, I think it is too expensive really, but she is earning some money herself to pay for it. We have discussed a reasonable split and we have paid the deposit which is about 25%, so will pay the other 25% and she needs to earn the remaining £600. Kit is a gift from us so that doesn't come into the %.
She has made a list of how she thinks she can achieve this and we will also give her jobs at home. I think it will do her good and it's interesting to see her planning. We were quite clear though, we won't be paying her to do jobs to the value of £600 so she does need to get cracking.
She has dog walking, babysitting, food packing, home jobs on the list so far. As she is doing her GcSEs this year, I don't want her doing anything until after they have finished, although DH did say it may give her some much needed down time.
Equates to just under £19 per week to earn - sounds like a lot to me but DH thinks it will be fine.

Hi
Sounds like a plan...agree totally with getting her to pay for some of it. I assume you don't live close enoughfor her to do some chores for me;-)
I only say it sounds pricey as my DD1s school were offering a trip for half that. Week away and all in. Depends on how the teachers pitch it I suppose. My lot have just come back after a great week. Snow was disappearing onthe lower slopes but sunny sunny sunny..which obviously they loved. And camper van worked a treat...

Morning Brizzle, sadly I don't live near you, otherwise Miss Tilly would have been offering her services
.
The cost of this 1 skiing holiday, is the same as all 4 of us going away for Christmas - that gets into perspective. Good job I have my savings pots.
If it had been a private school maybe I could have understood it being so expensive, but it's just a state school.

A quick post as we are off for a walky/run. Rain seems to have passed over and the air smells beautiful.
Lodgers money has arrived so that has been switched. So sad that this gives me such joy......
I made extra food on Sunday for tonight, so no cooking required. (should have said DH made extra food
) Friday will be my first week of (1/52, target 9/52) no shopping. If it goes well then for next year it can be 12/52.
Have my small list of jobs to do this morning and once finished, DS and I are off for a bike ride. Once DD finishes her revision today, we are having a wii fit session. Apparently, they are both going to thrash me .....

Tilly, I love reading your diary and seeing how you make the most of every minute of your day, you fit so much in. I also have 3 Halifax accounts and use the £15 reward towards my car expenses account each month. We have had a joint account for years but only though about opening another 2 accounts when I discovered this forum.
I have lost my mojo a bit lately and I think it's because maternity pay isn't stretching but we are managing, enjoying life and still making some OP's so all is good! Enjoy your bike ride, a quick look at the weather forecast showed thunderstorms for us later, DD who is 3 is quite excited by that!Nov 2025 - part 1 - £13,878 part 2 - £20,953 Total - £34,832 24 months to go!1 -
Thanks CathT, this morning has been FAB. Blue sky and loads of chirping birds. Tiily dog had a great time running around. She sleeps when we get home:rotfl:
This mojo business is hard and I wonder how much of it is also related to hormones. I never get the feeling Mr Tilly really loses it, but I also know that occasionally he wants to have a splurge. He has his eye on a camera  so maybe the odd splurges off set the low mojo?
It really is a case of focussing every day isn't it. I don't mean to the detriment of the day, but just that little voice saying "need or want?"
Have a good day, I am off to the Halifax now.

Hiya, change of plan. Halifax tomorrow. In light of our 'do as much in one trip as possible', I was just about to jump in the car and Mr Tilly reminded me we are off to the town tomorrow, and we could do it all in one trip. He is really working hard on the fuel consumption so was absolutely right. I now have a wee list for the morning:rotfl:
Have had a great time with DS - we have cleared his wardrobe out and I have a CS bag and enough for one bundle on eBay. Good makes so I think they will sell.
Ironing all finished, last load of washing in the machine - glorious blue sky and it's pouring with rain, with a little hail for good measure:)
Just about to get my but! Kicked on the wii !!!!!!!

Have a good fun on Wii, you deserve it

And I would definitely agree - the odd splurge makes you feel like you still have some fun just for the sake of it and it keeps you going!
(I'm lusting after new phone right now, but still have my doubts if I would really USE all the expensive extra functions
