Morning, thanks for all your lovely posts re DD -she's a happy girl and it's great to see her planning for her future.
DS had his first GCSe results and I'm pleased to say did well. It's always been harder for him than DD and we were all worrying. All in all, a good educational result for them both.
We are having the most amazing holiday. We are so fortunate to have our home here and we've been out with friends, music nights, trips to the beach and entertaining at home. I've hardly picked my ipad up - this was a test for myself. I seem to be permanently attached to it in the UK, and have deliberately stayed off line
I have Tilly Tidied £2 ish in total - kept to our budget, not bought too much food and have started buying some bits to take home.
I managed to defrost and clean the freezer before we left the UK and it's all ready to be turned on and filled when we return.
I hope everyone is enjoying school hols, or the long weekend.
Best wishes Tilly x x x xx2004 £387k 29 years - MF March 2033:eek:

It all sounds great. A fitting reward for all of the work that you all put in over the last several months. Enjoy the rest and rejuvenation,

Just checking in after a great 3 weeks rediscovering my 2 DDs and darling OH...bit like yourselves, felt a bit disconnected in the hurly burly of the last few months, which was nicely put to rest after 3.5 weeks away..:D
It all sounds great. sorry you're so valuable they don't want to lose you(but guess I always thought that might be the case
) and huge congrats to young Miss T....that's ace.

Hi and happy holidays Tilly, hope you're all enjoying a well-earned rest! All the best to Miss Tilly too, a fine result from all that hard work and an exciting new chapter for the autumn! Aw shucks Habibiboo - you really are so kind. But the books are brilliant (Good and Cheap is more budget conscious than From Scratch - but they are both brill).
I'm genuinely so pleased that you will find them useful (pancakes page 18 G&C - superYUM), as soon as I saw them I thought 'MSE' and Leanne wants folks to distribute them as widely as possible apparently, so.....
I'm really, genuinely pleased MSE'rs are finding them useful

Morning,
Thanks for dropping by - our holiday is fab and there has been good food, sun, much laughter and rest. We have had a siesta th last couple of days as the temp was close to 40 degrees - too hot for us.
Greying, I was speaking to DD yesterday and I've recommended she uses your diary for recipe ideas. She loves veggie food, as do I, and I've said there are tons of ideas for good quality but economical dishes -with pics :T. You may well find Miss Tilly asking questions as she spreads her wings and flys. Can you be a surrogate mum to answer cooking questions when needed please?
You are a giving and warm person Greying and have added so much to MSE :A
Brizzle - it has been frustrating but it has also made me realise my worth and value. That's quite powerful and I've always worked hard and achieved but never really appreciated what I bring to the table. I understand now. When they eventually say I can go, which they will with leadership changes, my payout will have increased further due to age. I'm still on track to retire early and at that point will be house planning. The renovation pot will be in place and we will start work over here :T. All in all it's been a good year and now Mr T is working, life is in balance again.
I've recommend DD reads your diary to learn about the budget app you use - this would probably be helpful to her and she'll be lurking to learn more
Habibiboo, there has been much planning with DD. I buy loads of stuff in bulk, work through spices at a ridiculous rate and DD has plans to raid my stash and use me as a shop :rotfl: It is so lovely to see her excited and she has tons of ideas.
Fortune, I've recommended DD reads your diary for menu ideas. She loves to cook and will benefit from your suggestions
Gally, I've recommended you as the MSE financial advisor. It looks like we will be buying a house next year as a B2L - she's going to be studying for years.
MWC, for pics of chickens and memories of Henry, DD will be lurking on your diary too. She is keen to keep her financial focus - she'll need to - and yesterday was talking to me about income streams :T. Good girl
Right, I'd better drink the tea which Mr T has put beside me. It is a glorious blue sky day and we are having a lazy start to the day. Bargainous smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for breakfast :j

Glad you're having such a great time :TA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0
