Yes, am looking forward to it. All MFWs v welcome to raise glasses (either virtually or IRL if they feel like it).:D

Then will have to decide what to do with the rest of the money. Nice problem to have, but a new one on me. :)

Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Congrats to Lydia for the MF achievement. :T

:j Congrats to Tilly for on-going wisdom and inspirations, most particularly in the successful use-up campaign. I now have a small space in my fridge thanks to the inspiration for the jar use-up challenge (however I suspect newly acquired space is about to be filled with tomatoes, passata and the like)!

Happy times Tilly, glad you had a good day on Sunday, the seaside's still here when you want to be beside it! x

  • Morning, I have no idea where this week is going. That's the problem with having holidays, we need to do all the work for the time we are away, before we go

Deep pockets and short arms still working well.

    98p Tilly Tidied to MOS

I'll be at the gym tomorrow and looking forward to going. When I'm back off my hols I'm scheduling more classes in, to make sure I stop working :)

Mr T returns this evening and I've really missed him. 2 more days and it's holiday time :). We have a friend staying with the hounds and cats so they won't be disrupted.

Dinner this evening is smoked salmon off cuts and scrambled eggs, with toasted muffins.

HG Blueberries poached in a little Madeira with icecream for dessert.

Dinner on Friday is changing as the DK have put in a request for HM pizza. This will help to empty another couple of things from the freezer.

Saturday morning will find us walking the hounds. I'm taking DD to work ridiculously early and then coming home and taking the hounds out. They've missed the DK and their Dad this week :(.

After the walk it will be defrost time. The small freezer in the house fridge will house things we haven't used. Everything else will have gone - that's quite an accomplishment and really has saved us money but more importantly, made sure we used our stocks wisely.

I have the money put aside in a savings pot, offset of course :) to fill the freezer up again. As we will be heading into autumn, it will be more casserole type stuff and chilli's, curries etc. I'm taking a couple of Saturdays to cook and freeze in September, to make September and October easier.

I'm conscious this week that I've done little at home. Simply too much work and not finishing until late. The house looks like a tip to me - Sunday morning, after gym and hound walking, will be a thorough clean of the house.

Reminder list for me for Saturday and Sunday - Washing, ironing, fridge and freezer cleaning, vacuuming, our bed changed, cards written and posted, financials updated.

We are all looking forward to being away and having some good family fun. Loads of things sorted out with friends and a couple of adventures on the cards as well.

On the work front - looks like I will be staying put. I need to go with a package on the right terms and my good reputation appears to be working against me. They don't want to lose me :o. Time will tell, but corporate plans for 2015 have changed and there will be more opportunities to go then, which wasn't on the cards before. I appreciate I am fortunate to have a well paid role. What I have learnt is that my skills are attractive in the market place and having been offered a role, which I sadly couldn't take, I'm hopeful another company would want me, should the opportunity arise.

September will be the start of a frugal quarter for us. My redundancy was a factor in clearing the mortgage and I need to close the gap. With bonuses, which I have never used in my calculations, we should be OK, but I want to be certain we hit our MF date. Apart from freezer fill up, life will be frugal and I'm hoping peaceful.

At the moment I feel that we are all running in different directions and have little time to stop and regroup. I do believe this is only a 'time in our life' thing, rather than a change in the family dynamics :). The summer has brought opportunities for the kids to spread their wings, which is great to see, but interestingly, all of us have missed having the together. Our holiday will sort that one out :T

Right, I'd better make another cuppa. I had a decadent morning with breakfast in bed ;). A lovely MFW chum recommended a granola breakfast cereal which I'm having with low fat Greek yoghurt, berries. Delicious and makes sure I have breakfast each day. After the gym I tend to have scrambled eggs on toast :)

    Have a good day, Tilly x x x
