Hope you are having a good day out Tilly. This afternoon has turned out much better than expected, so hopefully you will find a place to eat al fresco.
We went to St Pauls back in March. We managed to walk up as far as the stone gallery, but didn't go any furtherEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Back home now
AMAZING day and well worth going.
We were so fortunate with the weather. Dreadful on the journey to the tube station. Dry when we walked to St Paul's and glorious sunshine when the service finished. The hymns were all my favourites and the sermon could have been written for Mr T.
Afterwards we walked over the Millenium bridge and picnicked by the Thames. The sun was beaming although it was windy, especially walking over the bridge. We watched the world go by and loved it.
We thought we would treat ourselves to an icecream after a couple of hours and we literally watched the rain heading our way. We were 2nd in the queue for icecreams and the rain bucketed down. Fortunately we were right by the tunnel on the south side of London Bridge and we ran under cover for shelter. We only had to wait about 10 minutes and it had passed over. The rain saved us £5 but only temporarily as a conveniently parked icecream van at the Tower proved too much temptation :rotfl:
We went to see the Tower of London and the poppies are very moving. Sad to think how many people lost their lives due to war and given the situation in the ME and elsewhere, the same is still happening to day. Really brings it home.
A very special day and definitely one for the memory books.
I'm off to have a sleep for an hour. Fortunately we put a beef casserole in the SC before we left. I just have to cook some rice and dinner can be served, which gives us both plenty of time to have a well deserved nap.
Operation freezer use up is on track - tomorrow night it's sausage meat, onion and sage stuffed marrow - it's a courgette I missed and now it's huge. I'm serving it with roast potatoes and broccoli/carrots. I only cook it once or occasionally, twice a year and it's a tradition from my mum.
Thanks to everyone who has posted - I will catch up tomorrow - I'm dropping Mr T at the station late tonight, as he's heading north for an early meeting tomorrow.
I hope everyone has had a good weekend and the storms haven't been too severe.
Best wishes Tilly x x2004 £387k 29 years - MF March 2033:eek:

Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Great stuff :T:T:TA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
