Hi Habibiboo, I love HM soups - summer or winter but my kids are always more reluctant. When they leave home having a couple of soup nights sounds a good plan, along with HM bread rolls
Mum will move in for the winter here and then when we downsize in the UK, I'm looking for places with a downstairs bathroom and a room which can be used as her bedroom. Eventually I think she will be with us permanently, until she joins the rest of our family :A. However she is fiercely independent which is good in some respects and difficult in others. I want her to be independent for as long as possible but the winter months are hard, as we found out last year. She went from being ok to struggling very quickly.
All emails in and meeting tomorrow. I may just have sent a strongly worded email today - let's see how tomorrow goes :rotfl:
Living on the same income is OK - we had a splurge when we bought some items we needed but we are back to living on my salary including paying the mortgage. Mr Ts is used for the mortgage OP and building the savings. We have definitely made significant changes to our lives and thankfully are much happier as a result. We've also met some fab people along the journey :T
Have the bites settled down now?

When it's just us we have two soup nights per week
x
That's similar to what we do.
On Thursday and Friday when I'm working, we generally have something lighter, like soup. It's something that we'll carry on doingEarly retired - 18th December 2014

I went to Zumba with DD last night, I looked a delightful shade of pink after and hour of non stop movement. Loved it :T

PC surveys seem very thin on the ground at the moment - anyone else finding this?
We are supposed to have finished RM survey after six months but have received first posting pack for August.
I need to give S&S our holiday dates.
Dinner last night was oriental beef with rice and cucumber/chilli salad - DS "I really loved my dinner" - couldn't ask for more than that
This evening it's Tandoori chicken with salad and probably spiced potato wedges, followed by the remainder of the cheesecake. Mr T is home this evening and as we aren't eating until around 8.30 at the moment due to the heat, he will be able to eat with us. Weekends it's been approaching 9pm before we felt ready to have dinner
We have a busy couple of weeks coming up with quite a lot of activities on but all reasonable prices or free. Freezer sort out on Saturday will give me a clue about what to use up in August. I'm looking forward to defrosting the freezer - you have to get your kicks where you can :rotfl:
I am a nightmare jut before going on holiday as I like to change all the beds, clean the house and know it's ready for our return. This does mean the day we leave will be full on but I can collapse in the cabin, on the ferry, and sleep for 12 hours :T
Right, I'd better crack on.
Best wishes and soon be the weekend

The cheque has cleared.
I have just paid off 3/4 of my "mortgage".

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Superb :j:j:jA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Hi Tilly - delurking again...
Yes, I thought the same for last week or so and then a survey arrived out of the blue last night.0 -
Hi BookWorm, lovely to see you, hope all is going well with you.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for surveys to appear - they're worth doing

Morning, Friday already
Off to the gym shortly. I keep forgetting to update my signature but I've lost 9lbs now :T

We have a chum coming over for dinner tonight and will be making a ME themed BBQ. DD is raiding the freezer for suitable food stuffs this morning. Tabbouleh and HM flat breads will be the carb element. Loads of lettuce, chives, radishes in the garden and stuff in the fridge to knock up a salad
3 weeks to payday
I'm on a frugal semi fast as the kids are away from this weekend. Minimal shopping - on the nights when I'm on my own it will be omelette and salad, HM soups.
I'd better get cracking.
