I am saying this in a very quiet voice - I am still not drinking!

It doesn't seem to make any difference to the budget but with the new role, I am not coming home stressed and having a glass of wine or two which must be good.

I will speak to DH about Apple - really good advice thanks

On a general money note mortgage down to £303k, this month will take it to £301 ish and then GOODBYE Spanish bank

Blimey are you going totally TT? Good for you :T (rather you than me though )

I've just got an email from our trainer Jillian and notice that she is selling 30 Day Shred and Shred-It. I didn't know about Shred-It! I thought that just was your pet name for 30DS! :rotfl:
Sounds like you are enjoying it in any case - good work :T
  • Oooohhhh MacG, I ache today from exercising - hope it reduces.

I am sure I will be having a few drinks, but will keep it to Friday-Sunday and not until March - will I be able to hold out?

Course you will. With all the savings you'll be able to buy a case of Verve Cliquot to celebrate!

And all exercise induced aches are good ones - as Jill says "This is where the magic happens" :D

  • Hi GG, I can't wait for it to begin with a 2 - although knowing me, I will then be wanting the 1 to start sooner, and that's just not going to happen.

MacG, a case of fizzy stuff is right up my street, I can think of nothing better than a home grown salad, table outside laid beautifully and a glass or two of fizz. Those days have gone for a while but it will be great in the future to know we can treat ourselves.

Had a good night this evening and had a good discussion on comp and benefits for my new role and looking forward to reaping the rewards - it will be a challenge but I love change and it's in such chaos my skills will bring significant improvements quickly which will be visible - marvellous.

Happy Tilly having an early night, so will catch up on diaries in the morning.

    Best wishes, Tilly x

  • Evening, I can't believe another day is nearly over. I sometimes feel that we are travelling at warp speed in the Tilly household.

So Friday dawns and although I know it is going to be hectic, it also means that it is almost another weekend. We are taking DS to the moves, as DD has a couple of things on. I ws tempted to try bowling instead but as DH and DS are quite competitive, I can imagine things could end in tears - possibly mine.

So movies it is, just need to decide which film.

No time to resort freezer, so that's now down on the Friday night list. Along with a little ironing which is lingering.

On a positive note, won't be long and I will be planting tomato, chilli seeds, plus I am tempted to start some basil off in the house - its early but I love the smell. Never tried doing that before so if it fails, not to worry.

Very low food spends coming up this weekend - I am doing a batch cookery day on Sunday but I have tons of minced beef in the freezer, so will thaw, turn into a selection of dishes, cook, then freeze again. I also have a huge pile of pots so will prep those for roasties and freeze.

Enough for now, my brain is tired, so night all.

    Best wishes Tilly x

Hi Tilly, yes, you're right, where has another week gone to?

Great news that your connection with the Spanish Bank has gone, we're now in February which means you can say they will be gone 'next month' now :j

I shut up the work shop at 5 today, got lots of IT problems and my work connection went down for the upmteenth time today at 4.50 so I took it as a sign and switched off. I know I'll have to do a few hours over the weekend but that's just the way it goes sometimes isn't it. Last week was a disaster area and although this week hasn't been as bad I've worked like a dog and pulled two 12 hour days with the others not being much better, today I've done 8.5 which has been the best day all week

I also found myself at about 4.30 realising I still had my scarf on that I put on at about 8.25 this morning when I popped out :rotfl:

    Regards

  • Hi ATT, I did laugh about the scarf, it's the type of thing I would do. I spoke to DH this morning and said about next month with a new mortgage provider and thanks for saying that, as it's the first time we said it out loud, and it sounds so good.....

Yep, work is like that. You seem similar to me, there's stuff which you have to deliver and regardless if the diary, it has to get done. However, I get a real buzz out of it, and you seem to too.

Hope the weekend has gone well and you are wrapped up - its freezing here and DH has had to go outside three times and thaw out the condensing boiler pipe which is outside. Even though it has foam, heasiany stuff wrapped around it.

Evening, what a busy day. We went back to the jewellery lady and have commissioned a ring for DD. it will be beautiful - quite classical with a twist. In addition a bracelet of mine which has been broken for years will now be fixed, and we have taken a stone out of one ring to put into another - so a lovely dress ring for me.

Next will be to get her to remove all the stones from the other bits and pieces and then I can sell the gold. Fab.

Freezer has been emptied, re-sorted, along with garage larder and baking cupboard. Menu plans re-jigged through to end of February. Plus some of the recipes for March are ready and waiting - it gives me great joy to cook and feed the family and friends etc. I really feel in my element in the kitchen.

It is bitterly cold here today and we had a long walk with the dog. I am still to shred it but that will be first thing in morning, and then volunteering for a couple of ours, Brrrrrrrr all outside but I guess we will manage.

On the weight loss front, I have lost 9lbs since the New Year which was a surprise. Thanks MacG for the support in keeping me focussed I really appreciate it.

Financial update, DH had a tax rebate on Friday so that is now in the bank and transferred to the OP pot in readiness. It's SO close now.

I shopped at tesc@ today to get the 10p fuel voucher, however, I resent the fact that I am being pulled in to buy from them. What a moral dilemma, but my pocket won. It was mainly household stuff like washing up liquid, dishwasher tabs etc all on offer. Along with the £5 of £40 (but I spent £60), it was a bigger shop than expected, but I probably have 2/3 of a year of dishwasher tabs, loo rolls etc.

I think that's all my updates for now, apart from I do have ironing to do - that will be a job for early in the morning.

Have a good evening all and wrap up xxxxxx
