Mr E, I have a confession, I popped into Mr W and beef cheeks were reduced - I may have bought 2kg :T They are all prepared and marinating with red wine, garlic and onions, ready for SC tomorrow morning.

What day are they going on the meal planner? I think I'm driving past that day :rotfl:

Was it a good reduction? Your meal sounds lovely, think it's time for my lunch!
  • What a lovely morning, there's pork shoulder which I've chunked, onions, garlic, parsnips, apple juice - a little smoked paprika cooking away in the SC.

A large pan of swede, sweet potato, garlic cooked and ready for mashing with nutmeg, s&p for in the week.

Butternut squash in the oven with cumin, chilli and a drizzle of oil. Some will be for soup and I'll add some to the mash above.

Then tomorrow I have the beef cheeks to cook.

Some stocking fillers purchased for the kids, gifts purchased for a girlfriend who loves cooking, I'm filling a stocking full of goodies :T

Every day bread bought from Mr Ms along with hot dog rolls. Mr T is cooking some for mid afternoon 'lunch' when DS returns. He's always starving.

Finally dinner this evening is jerk chicken :T Chef of the day Mr T

I suppose I'd better talk about money now

Xmas budget is working hard and I'm hunting down offers which I can also have discount on as well :T

They were half price and only had a price sticker on, not a reduced sticker, thanks to the nice man serving, so I had staff discount too. Normal price is £7.49 per kg from memory.

However, none of this was on my shopping list, so I did go off piste somewhat :o. Pork smells lovely at the moment.

  • Evening SF, I must say the jerk chicken was good - maybe a bit salty for me as I tend to use salt but also, Mr T didn't put much in, so we decided it may be down to some of the spices. It was a JO 30 min recipe.

I will take the fact off the pork stock tomorrow morning and thicken it - it's ready then for whenever we choose to eat tomorrow.

Loads to fit in tomorrow. With the end of the financial year Mr T and I haven't walked as much. That will be remedied as Mr T and I were chatting about it this evening.

I LOVE jerk chicken...the stuff they sell in the street at St. Paul's Carnival here in Bristol has to be some of the best! but the BBC Good Food Recipe is my favourite :D

Glad you are talking with Mr T, Mrs T, that's important!

  • Morning Brizzle, it was lovely yesterday as DD was at work, DS poppy selling and Mr T and I had time to catch up :)

Did you catch any of the storms down your way late yesterday - no weather warnings to speak of and horrendous winds and rain.

    Have a good Sunday.

  • Morning, NSD ahead :)

Mr T is starting the rubbing down tomorrow, prior to decorating - apparently it's all in the preparation and much thought is needed before picking up any equipment. Mr T does think 3 months thinking is probably enough :rotfl:

I should have 6 NSDs in a row this week. Determined not to touch any redundancy, lodger income, JS money if possible. I have more than enough food in to keep us going for a month or so - have decided to only pop to the market this coming Saturday to buy fruit and veg - I can pick milk up from L!dl on the way home from work when required.

Mr T is busily job hunting still. His mood varies but on the whole he's OK - frustrated by not working and given his skills, I'm not surprised. However with the decorating about to start, well the second phase of prep (rubbing down), that will keep him busy as well.

I'm quite surprised how well we are managing - if we hadn't turned our life around we would not be so fortunate.

Have a lovely day - I'm feeling very positive and looking forward to our new year which has started at work.

Final reminder to me - use laptop in the evening and do some surveys, YouGov are fine on iPad but OP useless these days, definitely need the lappie.

    Best wishes Tilly x

All good thanks Mrs T. Was stormy yesterday late afternoon but we were cosy inside and then went out for the eve so all bad wether passed unnoticed.

Pleased Mr T is focussed. Tbh it hasn't been that long..I am sure he doesn't always see it that way but it's not even been the equivalent to a maternity leave yet :rotfl: and as you say you're coping financially....that's the important thing..:D

I should get into surveys...I did a few way back but they never seemed to accumulate enough to pay out. Which ones would you recommend?

    Have a good day :)
