I was going to buy oxtail as well today but it's £6.49 a kg - does that sound expensive?
Not to me, oxtail isn't nearly as common as TV chefs would have us believe
I typically look to spend no more than £5/kilo, but wouldn't mind spending more than that for a treat. I could make some lovely Pho with oxtail, om nom nom.0 -

I love eating restaurant style meals, we get so disappointed when we eat out now and hardly ever have take away because we can make something that tastes far better and takes the same amount of time (because we can't justify paying delivery).MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Hello all..
I cooked dinner for the Tilly gang, Chicken Chasseur, mash (thanks Mr T) & broccoli.. Followed by tart Bourdaloue (poached pear & almonds)..
Nobody poisoned, everybody is breathing.. Must be a good sign..

Mr E, you've persuaded me to buy some oxtail. I think I'm going to make an oxtail and leek pie - no recipe so will make it up as I go along. I'll cook the oxtail in the slow cooker and ask Mr T to make some short crust pastry. I normally have a few bargainous ready made ones in the freezer - the last one went today on the pear tart. Will be on the lookout for some more
Froggy made a lovely chicken chasseur this evening and it's good to learn from each other.
Hasn't it been a mild day today - I've had the window open in the sitting room this evening as we were all too warm.
The poor hounds have missed their long walk today - will have to get cracking tomorrow.

Good morning, I have something which I need to remember, but can't.
I'm making a list of things I need to do today, to free my mind to remember the important 'thing'
Walk the hounds
Prepare veg for dinner this evening - partly
Ask DS to clean his bedroom
Empty airing cupboard - done
Sort receipts from yesterday and switch money from savings pots to c/a - done
Check I have cash to pay for some tickets
Update spending diary - done
Menu plan
Send remaining menu plan out - sorry for being late - done
Most of these tasks are quick but I'm feeling irritated about the 'thing' I can't remember.
Raining at the moment and pleased we decided to tackle the hedge yesterday. DD and I can put an old movie on the TV and make sleighs
Last night I put two bags of minced beef and onions (cooked) into the freezer and have one in the fridge to use on Tuesday for cottage pie. I portioned the remaining mince and now have two 'meals' of raw mince frozen.
Sorry my train of thought is a bit off, I think it's because I'm trying to remember

I'm a bit hurt you've forgotten to be honest.
