As FS says, you are a very resourceful woman and Mr T will doubtless play his part admirably (i.e. get another job) :)

Mrs E has been unemployed twice since we meant (only for a few months at a time). The worst thing about both times? The worry beforehand/early on in the spells. Once we got down to it, coping was not an issue and if anything we ended up more tightly knit as a couple.

My ramblings aside - stay positive - you have a lot in your favour and it's the weekend.

Totally understandable to have a wobble every now and then, but I have faith you will all cope as a family and as a couple with whatever happens

Wobbles are part of our psyche Tilly.

They exist to serve as a reminder that although good times are ahead, always be certain that complacency never gets a look in.

Your positive future is just round the next corner. If you look again you can see it:D

Well the morning started off with me feeling very wobbly, but with the walk, church and you guys things look brighter.

I know that I have had wobbles in the past so this may not just be related to Mr T. I get frustrated at myself for the money we wasted, the time it has added to this MF journey BUT, if we hadn't had a LBM, we could not weather the storm we are facing at the moment.

So things to be grateful for:

    Friends (virtual and RL)
    Abundant tomato supply :T
The fact all four of us can cook delicious food
Beautiful joint of pork ready to be cooked
Vine tomatoes from the garden with garlic to roast
    Ald! Super six

    Best wishes Tilly x

  • That is the spirit Tilly. Very good wishes. Like you I could really kick myself for all the silly and incredibly expensive mistakes I have made in the past. But like you, we are making a better future and it is always better late than never.

We can't go back and change the beginning but we can make sure that the ending is the right one.

Still thrifty though, after all these years:D
  • Thanks SSS, I feel far more energetic now, although not enough to take the hounds for another walk :o

I definitely find comfort in cooking for the family. Currently have swede and butternut squash roasting with garlic, ready for a dish in the week.

Roast peppers, garlic, tomatoes, oil and a splash of balsamic vinegar - for a veg flan in the week.

Huge vat of Economy Gastronomy (love that book - thanks Allegra and Paul) minced beef 'stuff'. I'll portion it up when cooked ready for chilli in the week and the rest into the freezer.

Mr T has told me he's taking over the cleaning in the week and will do the ironing. 4 hours job hunting, then 2 hours on jobs sounds ok to me and it will make our evenings and weekends much more relaxed.

Pork smells delicious - this dieting lark isn't going too well in the Tilly household

ETA: I forgot to add I've cooked a huge 6lt slow cooker full of beef flank and onions - stock is now cooling and I'll take the fat off to tomorrow - there's enough for 3 pies of one description or another :)

Thanks for your encouragement today, I definitely needed a kick up the b£m. When I think about how fortunate we are, I feel embarrassed.

Best wishes to all and if anyone is reading my diary thinking 'should I start a diary and get on this MfW bandwagon' - just do it :)
