  • Morning Caz and MacG, I think the £125 is if you switch using Money Supermarket. Forgive me if I have just broken any MSE rules by writing this.

Goodness, where has the day gone?

    Rant removed,,,,,

Right, no money updates to give. Everything under control and I have the jewellery lady appointment for last 1st Saturday in March. GG, the link you sent yesterday was fab and I have identified a style which could include a few of the stones I have.

Sorry Billy, I am sure none of us lady folk have millions of jewels and gold available, but perhaps we should pool our resources and buy a street in the Billy empire. Then you would have all us lady folk to contend with:j

Anyway, off to have a cuppa and switch my brain off,

I can see us all in years to come attending annual MF summer 'picnics' all brandishing :money: badges and huge smiles, with relaxed shoulders (as we are not weighed down with the worry/angst etc).

We used to have regular barbies and parties on Lewis Lane but as the houses seem to be empty now Billy is probably going round snapping them up :rotfl:

  • Hi GG, that's so lovely. You will have seen fom my previous post I have not had the best of days, and that was such a fab thing to read.

More than that, when you all gel together, it is much appreciated that you let us newbies in to join the virtual party.

I am sure many come and then fall by the wayside, but can see there is a hardcore of group of you, so thanks for your generosity of spirit in letting us in.:D

There are building plots available Tilly, what style did you have in mind :rotfl:

Edit: Should we offer to sell Billy a very large plot ;)

  • Not sure the gold and diamond stash our laydee MFW members have up their sleeves is sufficient to allow Billy the chance to buy a substantial plot. We might need it all to pay for underfloor safes for the Littlewo@ds rings we may be overwhelmed with (should that read underwhelmed?).

Do you think space for a caravan would suffice?

Can't do smilies as I only did a quick reply.......l

Made me LOL - just in case Billy made may be lurking

Morning Tilly, well done, certainly sounds like you have everything under control. The 1st March will soon come round then you will have not just the pleasure of moving from the Espanol Banco but the jewellery lady appointment too

lol, you've removed your rant, I saw it before you removed it and had been going to reply to it but will refrain now ;)

I like the idea of us having a street in Billy world, we could call it Wummins Way, I know he would just love that :D

Aha! Is that the difference between a quick reply and a normal, i've never used the quick reply before and in fact had been on this site for ages before I even noticed it

Your lol to Billy, in capitals AND bold made me in turn LOL!

PS, thought of you this morning Tilly as I did five mins of ironing while listening to a call :rotfl:

Morning ATT, I have had a day where BT and their lack of customer support has nearly driven me to beating a pillow in frustration, no accountability and no ownership are two of my major bugs. So I have been off line for most of the day.

It did give me chance to catch up on my ironing though :T. Very pleased to hear you are multi tasking on the ironing front, I am sure it makes the calls go more quickly.

I am off to dinner with the kiddie winkles and DH this evening, we have a voucher to use up so tonight's the night. Tomorrow it is 'new thing out of a different cookery book' night, so shopping list prepared for that.

No major spends at all now until after payday - cant wait - and all my saving accounts have shown up in FD which is also good news. I am switching £1 (I know how to live) into each account after I am paid and then they will sit until beginning of March.

We are having a 2nd lodger move in, a young guy who is working in the area for a few months and staying 2 or 3 nights per week max. DS is looking forward to a few nights of Xbox slaughtering. All helps the OP pot. We don't live in Tilly mansion if I am implying we have beds for all, just that as life moves in, rooms are no longer used the same way, ie one used to a playroom, one kept for my parents who visited often etc. It's good to see the place full and the more the merrier as far as I concerned.

Right, have to go and do important girlie things now - choose clothes, shoes etc - work has now finished, so the business woman mantle has been dropped, and I am thankfully back to being Mom and Tilly of course.

    Night all, Tilly

I attacked a basket of ironing this morning whilst watching Homes Under the Hammer - love that show!

I admire that you take in lodgers, I don't think it's something that would work with our family, despite having an empty attic bedroom that is currently a computer graveyeard ("but I need them" wails DH when I mention getting rid ). The extra money must make it worthwhile.

    Enjoy your dinner date :)
  • Evening MacG, fantastic meal and the kids had us in stitches for most of the evening. I really value the relationship we have, as we have come through some good old challenges as a family and it seems to have set a good foundation for our relationships as the become mini adults.

    Anyway, enough waffle.

The lodger thing is quite interesting, as we are quite a noisy, boisterous family and I was worried 'guests' may feel this is a bit much. However, it transpires that people seem to want a home from home, rather than any anonymous room in an HMO. We have had au pairs in the past so are used to having people live in, and therefore don't want round the house in the nud, or boxers etc which could be a bit scary:eek:

The money is a help and having a guy will be interesting as he likes gaming too, so it will be some company for DS, as DH and I are useless. (if you are reading this DH, I clearly don't mean that, you are truly brilliant and I am sure it is always pure luck and not at all skill, as to why DS kicks your butt

Glad to hear you managed all the ironing, I managed to finish all mine during the last call, so I have a weekend off now.

    Best wishes, Tilly
