  • Am jealous of your packed freezer - I have a chest freezer in my garage which is only ever about 20% full. So silly really - I seem to a avoid trekking out there as it is so cold and avoid using it. Me thinks I need to 'man up' over this and start making proper use of it :o

  • Hi Polkadot, no idea whether this will help you but I find the time it saves after work makes it invaluable - would changing the focus from saving money (which can get a bit weary some) to saving time (which is a relief) make it easier?

    Good luck, Tilly x x

Hi tilly, thats a lot of saving pots!! Do you have a separate account for each or do you have a spreadsheet keeping track of the split??

I seem to be having the problem that I have far too many current accounts....4 at the moment and needing a 5th to keep everything separate and organised!!
    2019 Totals: Savings: £929.53 / Mortgage OP - £746.32

Bizarre question - do you tidy from the balance or the available balance? Mine are usually different and I can see them both on my internet banking and can never decide which balance I want to tidy.......

Or, is it from your spreadsheet balance, which again is usually completely different to either the balance or available balance on line.....?

Hi, all the savings pots are linked to my offset mortgage. Not as good as Int. Finance because you can't change the name of your savings pots which is frustrating, however it works well :)

I do have three other bank accounts but they aren't used much.

    Good luck, Tilly x

  • Hi Lula, I move pennies from my current accounts directly to the mortgage account - FD doesn't show a difference like NW does for example on cleared vs non cleared funds.

It makes life so much easier when the car insurance or household insurance is due, knowing the money is hidden away :)
