Hi Dot, I sometimes think I am a complete nutter. Fortunately we all keep each other going :)

Good luck with journey and I'll look to see if you have started a diary. I not, my advice would be to start one ASAP, as it is a big help.

    Best wishes Tilly x

  • Thanks Tilly, I've joined the 2013 MFW to hopefully give me a bit of discipline, I will think about a diary once I've got my feet under the table a little!

A low spend week is beckoning, as my 5 year old has come down with chicken pox today. Every cloud has a silver lining!

Sorry to hear about little Dot, hopefully it's a mild case.

  • We have had lodgers ever since we moved to our house five years ago - sometimes two, but usually just one at a time. They don't usually cause any problems at all, but we did have to ask one to leave a few years ago as she was not paying her rent. And she used to have loads of friends round - one particular evening found her having a dinner party for several friends in our kitchen, and we had to go down at 3am to ask her to keep the noise down!

Usually they are no bother though - most, like yours Tilly, tend to spend quite a bit of time in their rooms, although our current lodger is here all week and spends quite a bit of time with the family. There are always small niggles (she doesn't clear up after herself quite as well as I would like in the kitchen) but she is nice to have around and we get on well.

Lodgers definitely take a bit of getting used to though.

confused-and-unsure-smiley-emoticon.gif Speak for yourself AJ. Oh, you were :rotfl:. I know we've all said we like it 'here' as we can talk about MSE ways without people in RL thinking we're mad. But honestly........... I do think they're right sometimes :D.

Couldn't have a lodger. Too anti-social. Fact. Bessie mate stayed with me for a while. Hated it. Even Mr GG stretches my patience :o. Frequently ;).

    Good Mornnnninggggg

Yep, another 'no lodgers/ house guests for me thank you' one here:eek:

It's been an interesting conversation though, as it made me think back to my own childhood growing up in a guest house (our family home at that time was mahoosive, and my parents ran it as a guest house for a number of years - it was in a small seaside town, fairly close to Universities, so we had a mixture of students and some holiday people and I LOVED IT:T

My parents remained in contact with many of the guests, who became close family friends.

So, back in the day, I guess they were the 'Tilly' of their time:D

  • Hi Natty & GG, I grew up in a house with music, no TV for years and loads of parties. I'm sure that's one of the reasons I like a houseful of people :)

Changing the subject, I've been eating nothing at all that is not healthy since Thursday morning, plus i have been eating less and I've only had maybe three glasses of wine since the new year. Yet I have put on two pounds  how does that happen.

The last time I popped in to Mr A, I chatted to Mr T about the volume of product lines they have. How does all that stuff get turned over? The amount of temptation to spend is mad and their stores are huge and it really is a battle of wills to walk round and not be tempted.

Off to tidy up the house now.
