  • Morning, had a quick discussion with the kids about Christmas this year. They know the budget has been cut and there will be far less money spent than in the past. In addition, I have suggested we donate to the local food bank and to the women's refuge centre. Everyone has agreed and we will be having a sort out of some toys in the loft, a few clothes and a variety of food stuffs. It's going to be a difficult Christmas anyway, and I would prefer to do something to help others. I believe this will help everyone.

Off out to walk the hounds now.

  • Hi Tilly

Your Christmas plans sound so good for the benefit of the children. They will get so much out of helping others. Its a valuable life lesson for them. Great idea and more people need to share this spirit.

  • Thanks Matt. The kids are looking forward to helping out.

We have just got back from a very brisk walk. As we will be leaving them for quite a while whilst visiting the hospital, we wanted to make sure they were well exercised beforehand.

Mr T checked in at a couple of shops on the way back - another 15p to the pot :T

    Have a good day, Tilly

Hi Tilly, that really is a lovely idea that I might borrow for my lot, even if its just a trip to the charity shop to donate some of their old toys before xmas. Its nice to make them think of others at this time of year :D

  • Morning Mr E, Christmas is certainly just around the corner. I must admit that recent events have changed how I am feeling about Christmas this year.

However, I know that we can help others and that will help us - very convoluted thinking perhaps. I do look for the positive in situations whenever possible :)

To everyone who has posted, many thanks and my apologies for not responding. It's a difficult time at the moment.

    Best wishes Tilly x
