Hi PWD, that's so funny, just goes to show how the language differs across the miles, plus in the Black country it is "clammed" so even my memory is failing.
I too have a weight loss challenge for 2012. I am looking to lose a stone and get back to my 1.5 hours of walking a day. I always tend to slip when the bad weather and early nights are with us.
Just think how MFW we wil be though, less food, less fuel etc - marvellous

Sorry just had to ask - do you mean clapped as in :T???
I've been racking my brain and i just can't think of anything else or why you would clap the cat? :rotfl:
Hi SM,
I see someone has come to my aid with an interpretation! You have given me as much a laugh as I gave you confusion...
Cheers,
Billy

Evening all, another day closer to Xmas vacations woohoo :j:j:j
Reporting back that Euros arrived from Sainsbobs today - excellent service, nectar points and on time. Highly recommend and we will definitely use this service when we need cash to take away.
Various cash pots moved around to pay bills etc and all pretty much sorted untl after Xmas now.
Hope all is well in the lands of fellow MFWers

I forgot to mention yesterday that I have received the quote for decreasing term assurance. For a lower mortgage amount and it is MORE that we pay today. I don't understand that at all and will leave it as is for now.
Day of work calls, and I am hoping to clear my ironing whilst on a couple of con calls - lets hope I don't get asked a question just at a mega steam moment:rotfl:
Lots of washing to get done today so happy to be working from home and can keep churning it round. It's pouring here so certainly won't be drying anything on the line.
I am preparing some veg from the fridge today. I wont be using them so thought it sensible to freeze and that way I have some stuff ready for our return from hols. No idea what to do for dinner this evening, so it could be a slow cook bean and veg dish and serve with rice. Yep, I think I will crack on and get that started.
Have a great day everyone.

Tilly, have a wonderful Christmas holiday and I look forward to seeing you (online of course) in 2012 when we can all make some more progress with our MFW dreams......
Best, L1 -
Have a great holiday,
SquirrelPaid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D1 -
Thanks LB and all the best for your MFW journey in 2012. I will see you on the MF 2012 challenge. Had an unexpected reward from work today which was very much appreciated. What interested me the most was that this is the first time anything I have received, has been truly spare. Normally everything was used to clear a CC or clear OD etc - thank goodness for this site and those days being over.
Anyway have a good time with your family.

Think you are right about lack of moneysaving now T until after the holidays, i'll be adding weight loss to moneysaving from the New Year, had lost a stone and a half but have put over half a stone back on again. Will try and get back to where i was before the year is out and then will F-O-C-U-S, want to be a slimmer debtor in 2012:DHi SM,

Thanks Polly... i was sure it meant something nice, but i couldn't help giggling at the thought of a cat sitting in the doorway until it got a round of applause for coming in..
Sorry to hijack your thread Tilly.. hope you have lovely xmas holsMortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.1 -
Morning all, first load of washing in and taking animals to kennels this morning so loads of cleaning jobs to get through after that. There always seem to be more jobs than time right now......
Packing almost compete, just need DDs stuff and then I can secretly pack their gifts. I get ridiculously excited about Xmas.
A couple of money switches made this morning, and looking forward to payday next week. This is the first month, due totally to MSE, that I have money left at the end of the month, whereas normally I had more month that money. I do intend doing some shopping over the Internet in the sales, in readiness for 2012 gifts. So I am taking a little time when I finish work next week, to make a list of who, what etc, to allow me to buy specifics, not random purchases. No hope this helps to control the cost next year.
I have also started a piggy money box, and I am saving £2 coins. I don't tend to get many but I would like to save enough to take family for lunch, like we did a couple of weeks ago, as a 1 year on remembrance meal. As the interest rate is so poor, although I want to earn interest, or offset most of my savings, I am prepared to sacrifice the interest in order for the family to have the joy of dropping a £2 coin into piggy, knowing we are doing this for a special event. Goodness, that was a long sentence but I wanted to attempt explain the symbolic importance....... Mad I know.
I am off to switch washing and crack on with a bit more ironing - maybe I should rename my thread to the Ironing thread, as I always seem to be writing about it.
Have a great day fellow MFWers
