  • I feel like I should play a fanfare.............

I am only keeping my spending diary and the equivalent of my SOA going on the spreadsheet front. Everything else is stopping :eek::eek: I had reduced sme of my tracking, ie small OPs previously but this is a radical change.

Having finally realised that the OP route (thanks Peonie), is the way to go, then I am not tracking end dates via spreadsheet. FD are amazing on the phone and will happily plug variations into their online tool, to keep you abreast with end dates. I know we can achieve April 2016, although it will be tight, so that's it for now. Every extra £p will go into OP. Bear in mind I have an emergency fund, so that is safely offset, just in case something hits the fan.

I will keep my freezer list and menu plan though - I can't go completely cold turkey :rotfl:

Roll on next pay day when we will be at £247k ish. Hols coming up so that will possibly prevent us going down to £246,500 ish.

It is working - anyone thinking of doing a diary and having a dither, just jump in and get started. It makes the world of difference.

    Best wishes Tilly x

That is really good. It puts me to shame to think you will clear your mortgage in under four years, we have a smaller mortgage and I am aiming for 10 years. Maybe I really do need to do a SOA!

No problem, I'm glad the calculator helped us both out. I hate not knowing if I'm doing the right thing.

  • Hi AJ, every penny makes a difference and I think the regularity of OPs helps. You will often see I have OPd 20 or 30p, anything I think could be extra is OPd. It's this focus and discipline in 2012 which has helped to make the difference and I feel mightily relieved.

Good luck with your journey. The guys on this forum are really helpful and you learn so much. :):)

  • Evening NattyPants, get cracking. I promise you the difference between lurking and committing on 'paper' is huge.

 this could be you once you start a diary (that's the dancing smiley, but it looks a little weird)

  • I can vouch for that. I lurked for nearly 3yrs I think before I committed myself - so to speak. I now think I am certifiable as well as being committed but I digress. Definitely start a diary it really really helps.

Morning, NSD yesterday and another today. Weather looks ok and will be mid teens this week. Hopefully this will help the blackberries grow and plump up :)

Apples are nearly finished in the garden and they really have been delicious.

On the salad leaves front, looks like we will definitely make it through to about November ish. I am quite tempted to pick the green toms now and then get rid of the plants. I have had 3 plants which have done well and the others have failed miserably. I am awash with basil though and keep forgetting to buy Parmesan to make pesto. I need to start a shopping list.

That's the gardening update complete. We have taken the dogs for a good walk so they are now lounging about.

I need to spend some time doing more surveys. MrT and I share this but both of us have been remiss recently.

Tomorrow will not be a NSd as I am buying Panto tickets "oh yes I am". Looks like it will be around £120 ish which seems extortionate but I have saved enough in the Christmas fund thankfully. I am not buying masses of food this year. Every Christmas, wherever we are, Mr T goes into frenzy mode. The shops are shut for 1 day, and BP M&S will even be open then :rotfl: He has been known to buy so much food it was impossible to get through and I have given out food parcels to family and friends. However, this year will be different. I have the outline of the menu planned.

That's it for now. Have a good day everyone. Tilly x

Congrats on the NSD's.... It's fantastic that you and Mr Tilly are in this whole thing together, I really need to think of some creative ways to get my DH a little bit more on board ....
