  • Just checked my statement as I hadn't for 3/4 months. I'm now under the £100k mark for outstanding balance on my mortgage.

I'm seriously thinking about adding an extra 2.5k in overpayments by the end of the year.

    £99912 - Jan 2042 is end date.

I’ll have to dust my diary off :rotfl:

All going well on the Reno front and we will be packing up the house at the end of 2018 ready for internal walls to be knocked down.

I started a big clear out of stuff from the U.K. house about two months ago, plus we cleared loads of stuff in Portugal in readiness for the move.

We are all looking forward to having a modern, open and clutter free house and time to enjoy it. Lots of plans for our veggie garden and orchard over there.

I hope the Tilly Tidies are still going strong.

    Best wishes Tilly x

Great to hear from you Tilly! I'm a bit out of the loop - are you moving to Portugal? Sounds like it! Are you early retired? All sounds exciting anyway :)
A reminder to myself: Persistence Pays Off ;):D  :rotfl:
    Mortgage 1: [STRIKE]£95,000[/STRIKE] £78,900 at 3.1%
    Mortgage 2 (BTL): £83, 489.15 at 2.99% (I.O.)
Savings (S&S ISA): £3000 Plus 6 months emergency savings earning 3%
  • Hi Courgette, not retiring yet but certainly will be. We want the house finished first if possible. Mr Tilly will be heading towards 52 when we retire. He felt that 50 was too young but is already making plans for his hobbies.

It’s a really exciting chapter now and as the decision making side is done, it feels more optimistic than stressful.

Hope all is going well with you xxx

  • Great to hear from you. So glad it’s all going well.

    Lots of love x
  • Evening, definitely neglecting my diary but that happens to lots of people as they reach certain goals. Ryanair have £10 return flights on at the moment and it’s safe to say I’m taking full advantage.

House packing up is starting and it’s beginning to look a lot like....a building site. Well the outside definitely. Underfloor heating sorted, kitchen chosen, windows and doors sorted, tiles chosen, bathroom suites sorted. Apart from accent colours for certain walls and Miss Tilly is in charge of that, we’re done. Windows and doors start in January/February. It’s exciting to see the changes already and the garage and utility are looking lovely. Great to have the space and the land gives us lots of privacy.

Certainly happy, if not slightly stressful, times. I’ll whiz round and catch up on diaries and messages this coming week. Off on Wednesday for my last visit of this year. Roll on 2019, 8 years after starting my diary.

Hope everyone is enjoying their journey. It’s isnt always easy or linear but every Tilly Tidy penny is a penny closer.

    Best wishes Tilly xxxxx
