I'll be burning a candle for my old boy as well.
Ali- I took your advice and took a couple of hours off. I did some ironing (luckily with Sean away it was only a little pile), took Brucie out for a while and came to terms with what has happened.
I have been so frantic, I hadn't really thought about what will happen if we never find him. What will happen if we find him not alive? How will my sons feel when they come home on leave? How on earth do I move on from this?
All this went through my head while having the quiet time. I didn't come to any answers, but know that whatever challenge I face, it'll be nothing to what my big brave old man is facing now-or faced. So, I can't break down, everyone needs me. That was the only conclusion I came to really.
Let the lights shine bright tonight at 8.30 for my big, soft, daft, loving, lovable, brave Ruaridh.Ruaridh Armstrong-missing since 05/11/11. Come home old boy-we miss you x

Just found this lovely poem.. shout at me if it's too daft for me to post...
I went out for a walk
It was so lovely in the sun.
Chasing the leaves, I was having
so much fun.
Jumping and climbing I could have done
it all day.
When I stopped to rest, I realised I had lost my way.
I love and miss you and want you to know,
it was nothing you have done.
I just got carried away with playing in the sun.
Please try not to worry too much about me.
I can look after myself, and in a way I am free.
Although I'll never stop looking for a way home,
we will never be apart.
I will always feel your love for me, deep within my heart.
It may be all we have for now, but it's enough for me.
Cause you'll never know when I'll walk through your door
and expect you to have my teaRuaridh Armstrong-missing since 05/11/11. Come home old boy-we miss you x

Hiya Sazzy.... been following thread the for a while - since last week in fact when this thread first started and the topic was about pets and fireworks - then you posted....been reading every day and each day i think - must sign in to see if Rory (sorry about spelling!!) has been found.....
I just want to say - I cant offer any tips like the brilliant ones that have already been offered but want you to know that I too will be lighting a candle at 8.30 for Rory's safe return.
As a "mum" to 4 cats and dog myself, I cant begin to imagine what turmoil you are going through, but i feel that Rory is bound to turn up soon and your little family will be complete again.....Wish you all the luck in the world on your search - stay strong, thinking of you xxx
PS Hope you didnt mind me posting - no advice but just a huge hug and a wish for his return xx0 -
