I was so sorry to hear that Kip, the little blind springer which had been missing in the North West had been found washed up on the beach. Must have gone out for a swim, which apparently he loved doing and got washed out to sea.
He had had so many people out looking for him, what a sad ending.
    RIP Kip - God Bless.xx

I know DD, but so glad the owners now have closure. I hope that doesn't sound heartless.

Had a bad moment yesterday..Was outside work (having a sneaky smoke..I know, I know) When there was a huge CRAAACK of thunder and a bolt of lightning hit the side of the building about 20 feet away from me, but out of the corner of my eye, I saw something black whisk past me.

I turn round and there's a terrified black lab bolting past me! I took off after it- I knew it wasn't the old boy- too young- but it belongs to one of the little businesses scattered round my work, and there's a main busy road just down the way. The poor thing was otally oblivious though.

I managed to get into the field it had bolted into and headed it off before it reached the road. In the field there is a couple of travellers caravans, and they helped me 'corral' him so I could take him back home. We were both soaked to the skin but I don't care. He got home, and his owners told to keep their door shut until the storm passed over.

But OMG friends-just seeing the black flash out of the corner of my eye...just for a second-well you know what I though don't you.

    Sorry for waffling (yet again).:(

I bet your stomach was in your mouth and boots at the same time :(

Well done on catching the frightened lab though, who knows what could have happened to him.

You waffle away sazzy. I see my lad around every corner, in every room, and I hear the sound of his nails tapping about on the floor.
The other day I heard him slurping his feet, a favorate pastime of his ;) I told him off then realised I was talking to myself,:( I looked around for the source of the slurping only to find it was the rain dripping off the wondow sill.
I read your post and thought I am the lucky one really, I know my lad is safe, and we all want that for you. I hope that makes some sort of sense. xxxx

Sorry for the highjack needed to let off a bit of steam there. Had a woe is me moring xx

    Chris xx

Chris, honestly -it's fine. You have to get it out. Teej is still around you, you know. They never leave you.

No matter where Ruars is, I still talk to him. Talked a lot to him last night hoping he was away from the thunder- which always terrified him.

You grieve as long as you feel you want to, and if you want to let off steam, please feel free. We're all friends here, and totally understand :) xx

Sazzy, no that didn't sound heartless. Its the not knowing sometimes that is worse than the knowing.
I really do still believe that Ruars is still with us, there has been no bad news about him. I think someone has got him safe, its just getting the message out to whoever it is, that you want him back.

What luck that you happened to be outside when the dog did a runner and that you were able to catch it. I can totally understand what mixed emotions you had about it though. What a lucky dog, and what lucky owners that it was you out there. Anyone else might have just let it gone.

Chris, even when my dog is away at his dog sitter's for the night, I often still hear one of the dog's I've lost around the house, even though she died years ago and I've had two other dogs since. I know its her. When I'm in bed, I hear her snoring. Its not the dog I've got now as he sleeps downstairs. I find it comforting to know she's still with me.
