It's just that there's been no "bad" news about him - surely if anything had happened to him there'd have been some kind of official notification by now. So many of us on here are convinced he's been taken in by someone who has no idea of the efforts to find him.
Someone without internet access, or from another area...maybe someone who was at the local caravan site and took him home?
Just wish there was a way to get his story into the national media, but it seems like we've tried all the papers and TV and magazines. I can't think of any new approach, any other way to make his story known.0 -
Thanks, not been around much as still bogged down with work but still hoping, praying and lighting candles for the old lad.
Still believe he's out there somewhere and that someone is looking after him who doesn't know he's being missed.
Come on Ruars, find a way home soon, back to your family who still miss you so much.0 -
Sazzy, have you seen the post about finding Brook?
They think that Biscuit was found by putting up posters in Post Offices and asked people all over the country to do it locally.
That is something I don't think you've tried and might get to the people who are not on the Internet/Facebook etc.0 -

I think sazzy has put posters up in the local Post Office. Some places even wanted to take them down as it's been so long now.
The caravan site might be worth targeting again though. A poster up in Reception or the camp shop if there is one.
In fact it wouldn't do any harm to put fresh posters up everywhere now, just to jog memories. Everywhere that originally agreed to display the missing posters in the first place could be asked to display STILL MISSING posters.
Have you put posters up at bus stops and taxi ranks? Traffic lights and outside doctors surgeries? Maybe anywhere that might get the message through to elderly/housebound residents? Or off licences, pubs, bingo halls, chemists where prescriptions might be done?
Or the local Citizens Advice centre, job centre, library, banks, petrol station, outside churches?
I know it's probably all been done but fresh posters might just bring Ruaridh back in someone's mind that may just remember something vital.0 -
Thanks again everyone.
We're having trouble persuading shops to put up posters again. It's 'old news' supposedly. We'd put some more down at the caravan park, but they were taken down again, we don't know by whom though.
It's very disheartening.Ruaridh Armstrong-missing since 05/11/11. Come home old boy-we miss you x
If you can't stand behind our troops, please feel free to stand in front of them.
I will respect your opinions, even if I don't agree with them0 -

I can imagine it would be. What's wrong with some people??0 -

Unless there was someone who had a reason to take them down, i.e. didn't want him to be found?? You would think people would be sympathetic and want to help.0 -

That's a very valid point murphydog. Like maybe someone who has him and wants to keep him?
But surely it's one thing to keep a dog that you can't see anybody looking for...quite another to keep what you know to be someone's much loved family dog.0 -

But if you've picked up a dog that's lost and frightened - maybe if you live on your own - and like the company (who wouldn't)............there's a lot of selfish people out there. You'd be reliant on someone else who sees the person/people with a new dog to be aware there are reports of a missing black lab and put 2 and 2 together. I'm just wondering if this explains the reluctance at the caravan park? It just doesn't explain reluctance anywhere else.
The caravan park seems to be a bit of a focus, just wondering if the management there would allow a blanket email to all the owners? They must have all their contact details??0 -
Just another thought, knowing that there are many millions that read this board, could another thread be started with a big picture of Ruaridh and a different tag line BLACK LAB MISSING 8 MONTHS FROM XXXX AREA, or something similar? The a brief description and contact through sazzy's profile, if a phone number isn't ideal?
We could then keep it on the front page - as I can't see it being made a sticky - Sazzy what do you think?0
