You are both right, it's all very well us keeping up the hope and enthusiasm, that we hope will keep sazzy and her family going, but if you (sazzy) would now prefer to deal with this in your own way then that is most def. your choice and we should respect that.

Oh , please, I hope I haven't offended anyone.:(

I was just trying to put into words what I felt-maybe I worded it wrongly. You have no idea how much you have all kept me going the last 6 months (yes, I can't believe it either). If it hadn't been for you all keeping him on the front page, I probably would have just curled up in a corner by now and given up.

Pad-you're so right. I know he's either with someone or gone to the bridge (and I know a lot of people don't believe, but I do), and whatever has happened- he's free from fright and pain. That is a real comfort believe it or not. I just want to KNOW.

Someone on doglost today, had lost their dog..and a year later they found out someone had taken it in, unfortunately it was killed in a road accident, and when the vet scanned the body- the original owners found out what had happened. Tragic, but at least they now have closure. I kick myself every single day I didn't get Ruars chipped. Amongst other things..:(

But please, you are all invaluable at keeping me going, and, again, hope I didn't offend anyone

No offence AT ALL. I just put myself in your position and wonder how I would cope, it would eat at me every day, and I like to think I would never give up, it must be so tiring. I'm sure if we were all a bit closer we would get a big search party going.

If it helps, then we'll all still be here fighting the cause.

Aw Sazzy, we don't want to upset you, and if you would rather us not keep bringing it forward then we will stop but by being on the front page, it is keeping it fresh in other people's minds too and you never know, someone new might join the thread and it may well ring a bell with them or they might have some information or know where he is.
Padstow is right, he won't be still outside suffering, he's more than likely been taken in by someone who knows nothing at all about you still looking for him. It would be good if your son could get round to some of the outlying farms and give them a flyer, they might have had one last year but have lost it and might have news.
While ever there is no news to the contrary, we will not give up hoping for you.

Hi all, just to let you know about the 'This Morning' Missing pets thing. I didn't know about it until a couple of folks posted it on FB.. evidently this is what TM has on their page..

This Friday we’re intending to feature an item on missing pets. So if you’ve lost a pet, or think you’ve had one stolen, let us know and we might be able to feature them in our missing pets gallery. Email thismorning@itv.com with some good shots of your missing pet and a few details that might help: when you last saw your pet, any distinguishing marks, habits or characteristics. Maybe it was wearing a particular collar. We need your emails by 5.00pm Thursday the 10th May.

I have written to them..

Good Afternoon,

Please help us try and find our old timer. His facebook page is http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/groups/196610823750123/

He has been missing since November 2011, and the small community of Nairn, Scotland has been looking for him since. His page has brought lost dogs to their owners, rehomed old dogs-but we still need to know what’s happened to HIM.

He has been in newspapers etc, and on MoneySavingExpert.com there is a 2000 post thread still going strong- Ruaridhs search has brought many people together from all over the world.

He is an 11 year old black lab cross called Ruaridh. He went missing on 05/11/11 when a volley of fireworks went off right in front of him, and he slipped his collar then bolted, terrified. He has no ID on him as his ID was on his collar. He's black with a white elderly face. Fatty lump on his right side. Loves children, people and other dogs. He will come to you if you call-and if you have food in your hand.. We miss him terribly.

I have two sons in the British Army, and when Ruars went missing, one of them was serving abroad, but called home every day for news.

I know you’ll be inundated with replies, but just wanted you to know about the community which has now been forged for our old man.

Thank you for your time

Hope that sounded ok. :)
