RIP TJ. You my be gone, but never forgotten. Always in our hearts xxx
He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.
You are his life, his love, his leader.
He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.

But still, anyone without a computer or internet access will be totally unaware of Ruaridh's story. If the details could be sent to magazines like Chat or Take a Break, or any of the real story ones, a lot more people might become aware, and one of those people could just be the one with vital information.

The internet has been the main source of appeal so far but hasn't delivered - we need to reach beyond it somehow to maximise the chance of Ruaridh coming home. I still think the absence of bad news indicates that some well meaning dog lover is looking after him in blissful ignorance of the strenuous efforts to find him.

I know the magazine thing's been suggested before, but I think it has to give Ruaridh a better chance than lighting virtual candles. What have we got to lose?

Thanks again all. I did try the magazines but they said it wasn't a 'story' as such but they'd keep us in mind.

I've been out and about giving out 'still missing' posters. The shops seem to be hesitant to put them up again. He's old news now supposedly. I would love to say our hope is still strong, but, friends, it's not. I can only be honest with you all, since you all have been so supportive and have kept me going for so many months.

We will never stop looking for him-never stop loving him. But it's getting to the point now where I just want to curl up in a ball and grieve. I'm sorry- I know I'm being defeatist. I just don't know what to do anymore, what's for the best.

    All of you-thank you xx
Ruaridh Armstrong-missing since 05/11/11. Come home old boy-we miss you x

If you can't stand behind our troops, please feel free to stand in front of them.

I will respect your opinions, even if I don't agree with them :)
  • Ohhhhh Aileen hun ...... you are not being a defeatist - how you've managed to keep going this long is awe inspiring.

I am so hoping the return of visitors may bring some good news but ....

As you know, I lost Ben 10 days after Ruaridh went missing - I have spent the last 5 1/2 months grieving and although that's awful and it doesn't really get any easier, I do have some "closure"

I know you will never give up, or stop loving him but at some point, you will need to grieve for Ruaridh as he isn't home with you.

It doesn't mean that he isn't tucked up somewhere in someone's home and just hasn't found his way back yet - or that you will ever stop looking - and we will keep everything crossed there is good news.

I don't know if that's come out right but hope you get what I mean (((hugs)))

I understand completely sazz. The reason I stopped posting was simply because I worried it was keeping the torment to the front of your mind. I never stopped reading though.
You have to let go sometime as you are living at present in a state of Limbo.
You do your grieving, you did everything you could.
    Xx

Everyone will totally understand your feelings on this sazzy. None of us know what more can be done and you have been an inspiration with your quest to find Ruaridh.

Which magazines said it wasn't a story? I wonder if enough of us got in touch with them at the same time they might sit up and take notice? I mean, it's almost a story in itself to highlight the efforts of the community in all this for so long...it's not "just" a lost dog story.

If anyone else on here is willing to contact a couple of the magazines at the same time we might be able to have a last attempt at wider publicity...I'd certainly be happy to.

    Just bringing this forward again.

I know its hard sazzy to keep your hopes up but in the absence of bad news, I still think he is being taken care of by someone, how to get across to them I have no idea, because as I said in one of my early posts, apart from having found this thread, I would not have known about him. I am not on any of the other forums and not on Facebook/Twitter etc.
All of us are still following his story and wishing there was some practical way we could help you.
I would gladly get in contact with some of the magazines as zaksmum has suggested above, but I think it needs a lot of us doing it together to show that there is a lot of interest in his story.

Thanks all. We had tried Take a Break, Full House, and I think it was That's Life.

You're right- I should try them again. I don't want any money for the story- I did tell them that.

I'll try again. I'll email them today :)

You could do - if you have the time..I feel I've taken up enough of all your energies and time as it is. But if you would, then it's be great- thank you
