If anyone's interested the Body Shop website has an awesome deal on Body Butters and Scrubs.
Free Scrub with any Body Butter bought, plus if you spend over £26 you get a Body Butter for £1. Then the icing on the cake is £20 off any £40 spend.
Basically, you can get 4 Butters, 3 Scrubs and something else (to take the spend over the £40 mark, I got a £2 lipbalm) for £20.50. Considering the Butters and Scrubs are worth £12.50 each, that's pretty amazing. And P&P is free cos the original spend is over £30.
That's £90 worth of stuff for £20, and it's pretty much sorted out my gifts for my friends. Found this deal online last night and got some stuff, decided today I should totally get some more but now they're sold out of a few things so people might need to be quick. Voucher codes are on their home page.
Also realise that I might sound a bit like I'm just trying to advertise for the Body Shop, but am feeling very smug with myself for finding this and just thought I'd try to help.0 -

Friends - teddies and stuff from body shop that I have built up over the course of the yearNo you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

...by the way, if anyone can think of other Scottish things I can put in my mums hamper please post them
Hey Linz,
If you're still looking for Scottish themed stuff, what about a music CD? I would try and suggest The Proclaimers (they are my guilty pleasure!) but probably not everyone's taste. The Red Hot Chilli Pipers are great but I'm sure you can get some more typical Scottish music. Even better - download and burn to a CD and it'll cost you nothing (if you've got discs lying around).

We have a massive family so now I've finally got them to agree to no pressies for adults.
Nieces and nephews will get £10 in their card each.
For any others its been bits and bobs bought in sales and buy 2 get one free type offers - nothing over £7.
As for my boys - they will get a game of choice and then probably old fashioned stocking fillers as cheap as I can find them. They do have a gadget each, but its second hand or on a bargain offer. They've been well trained and love using the new/used section of websites to pick up their teenage type gadgets.
As for me and OH, it will be a couple bits of clothes that we need plus a small pressie (under £20) that we want to treat each other with.
We had years of trying to buy it/do it all, and it never made anyone happier.
I should add that I top the boys stockings up with pj's, undies and a nice hoodie each to give them more to open. They always laugh, then roll their eyes! This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -
I started putting my hampers together at the weekend.....theme is 'Bedtime' & stuff in them slightly different depending on who it's for. I never buy baskets or special boxes. I managed to get empty boxes the size I needed from garden centre & Amazon & have covered them in Christmas paper. As usual, the bit that would be straw in a posh hamper, I've used shredded white paper......a nice positive thing to do with bank statements & bills, if you've got a shredder! Once you start arranging the stuff in them nicely, you can see what else you need. I'm glad I did that as I had planned to buy about 3 more small items for each of them, but there won't be room for more than one or two max, so that's saved some of my Christmas present budget. I don't bother with lids as I like to cellophane the top & gather together with a big silver or red bow (99p for 4....or it might have been 5 rolls!) in the 99p shop last January. Already thinking about next year's theme, which I think might be baking x2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever
2) To read 100 books (46/100) 3) The Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg

Oh yes Christmas, it's sneaking up on me!
I have no idea what to get people yet! My budget for mum, dad, brother and sister will be around £10-£15 each. I do have some boot advantage points I could use. It's so hard to buy for family when they don't live nearby! It's something I have to be able to send in the post - or they can wait until a couple days later when I see them! At least I'll see my brother on Christmas day lol.
A few years ago I made a collage of photos from my sisters wedding a few months previous, using Photoshop and had it framed. They said it was the best present. Although it's faded now, damn cheap printer lol. I may get it printed out professionally.0 -
Read the small print carefully when buying from Ticketmaster. I bought tickets in August only to find that I was billed on my card in September and October for £10 each time for something called SHOPPERDISC.CO.UK 0800 7319935. This kind of 'passive' selling makes me furious.0

Hi Everyone
After buying a house this year me the OH are very very very very very very skint!
For christmas we worked out our cash and decided that we only have about £5 per person this year. Yes, we really are that poor at the moment!
Anyway, my OH went in to town in the week and ended up in charity shops where she found the most amazing presents. A lot of them were new and in excellent condition such as a really nice large Ikea blackboard for our nephews with chalk for £3 and a grow your own vegetables with pots and seeds, compost etc for £1.50 which my green-fingered friend will really enjoy.
Bottom line is that for 10 people we have spent about £34 and i am really chuffed with the gifts we have got. If anything they are more personal and more creative than anything you would find in a high street shop.
You wont always find what you are looking for but they are great place to find some good present ideas.
Just as long as you dont buy them second hand socks!
We would love to spend more at xmas but when you dont have a lot its better to spend what you have than get in to debt over it.0 -
Christmas is never worth getting in debt over
We have a decent disposable income (if you only consider minimum payments on debts) but we're still going to hit the debts with as much as we can and not go nuts on presents - I suspect husband will find that a lot harder than I do
He's a toad for spending on us at christmas but I'm gradually training him
I have his stocking fillers already thanks to Groupon (3 t-shirts with personalised messages on lol) but still a little stumped on what else to buy him... hmmm
Might do a sweetie hamper for him to be honestHe's a big kid so should enjoy that
